Eng40765 1st Gear May 15, 2012 Share May 15, 2012 Hi Bro, My friend matrix oso have the same problem and was recommended to change gear box by a reputable WS at AMK auto point.. But went for 2nd opinion (his brother inlaw who work in WS) to do a ATF flush and found quite a bit of metal content... After that car is OK now ... can even drive up Genting and hit 160KM/H on NSH. So maybe you want to try that first..... dont ask him try that , coz hyundai cars are tough... not sure if his is a hyundai...... Sorry - I cannot agree, my 2004 hyundai matrix was in a worse condition when I sold off in 2007 at 63000 km vs my toyota wish now of 6 years old at 150,000 km. The old matrix gearbox lag between 2 to 3 gear and jerk forward during gear change. ATF change also no use. Scrap at huge loss at 3rd year. You lucky can last till 7 years. QQDreamer 4th Gear June 4, 2012 Share June 4, 2012 also if u dont come into complete stop and shift down the auto gear , your auto GB will spoil easily also. Because auto is unlike manual tranny concept.
