1. What is a low profile tyre? anything that is lesser than 50?

2. Can 50 achieve high speed spec of 270km/h? would cornering be compromised with a set of 50 tyres?

Thanks all.

i am not too sure wad can be classified as low profile tyres, but the speed rating for every types of tyres are different wor.. usually lower profile tyres (and hence stiffer side wall) will have better edge in cornering (more responsive). But stiffer side wall will generate more noise and lesser confort for your ride.

Cheers

In that case, how would the width plays a part in improving cornering? Would a higher profile of 50 but with a wider width such as 235 improves cornering?

i think profile plays impt role in cornering rather than width

lower profile = lower side wall height which makes the side wall stiffer as there is

less flex in the side wall so u get better cornering but at the expense of comfort

1. So wider width equates better comfort?

2. In cornering, does a 45 makes a great difference when compared with 50 in R17?

Thanks.
