Hi

Would like to seek advise on SAFC2. Heard from frds that there are 2 kinds of tuning. Road tune (some called it lamda tune r something) and dyno tune (thought of doing it in JB speedworks).

Between these 2 kinds of tuning, can some bros here advise on the pros and cons?

Thanks

I got my done on road, may need a few round on the tuning due to weather, road condition car performance at the time. The tuning will be done base on how U drive the car on different gears to determine.

Don't waste time on road or butt tune. Go for dyno, at least do once swee swee, you can physically see the gain in figures. Not just gut feel. But seriously on SAFC2, there is limitations to tuning. I wouldnt even call it tuning btw. Not much parameters to play around with for this gadget. Most just lean out the A/F ratio.

For me I have already gotten my SAFC2 so i guess i will tune with it.

Anyone tried JB viswork or speedworks b4? Also I heard SAFC2 got 2 profile, does that mean we can tune profile 1 for power and profile 2 for normal driving?

Thanks

Neutral Newbie
I tuned my VAFC with the dyno machine... Why??

Safer

Accuracy

[nod]

dyno are not accurate..... a car dyno 500hp on crank and 500nm , but on road, its actually lower... dyno machines are not accurate, drop the amt by abt 20-30% thats the actual.... but vafc, tune with dyno shld be can liao.... its only air flow... can don even use dyno also ... just hit a safe no. frm ur fren's almost similar set up can liao lar..... don waste money

Agree on the fallacy dyno tuning part, not so much of 100% accuracy la but its just to make sure the before and after there is a gain. At least you know what you get for paying the dough. Road tuning is difficult to guage whether there are improvements just by gut feel, but for fine tuning is gd enough. [:)]

Well, dyno BHP is not accurate, is true. But I am jus worried that rd tune in SG requires a long stretch of rd as a full range of RPM will have to be achieved b4 tuning. In SG, I doubt there is a rd that allows this or achieving the speed/ rpm...

Main reason y i took road tuning into consideration is because its cheaper in SG and less troublesome compared to dyno tune in JB...
