Neotan Neutral Newbie December 11, 2007 Share December 11, 2007 Hi, My car parts need to be transported via sea and I wish to know what's the procedure I would need to undertake to collect my goods. Heard that I would need to engage an agent to do the permits etc - any reasonably priced/reliable agents to recommend ? Thanks neotan ↡ Advertisement
Porker Turbocharged December 11, 2007 Share December 11, 2007 Commercial goods usually pay only GeeA$$Tee and the associated duties can clear port liao. Go search for freight forwarding agents in Yellowpages and check it out from there. Some bigger companies provide full service (not the same type of full service in Sammyboy though) ---> ship, documentation + customs clearance
Annalynnie Neutral Newbie December 11, 2007 Share December 11, 2007 Depends on how many packages u have ordered, it may be quite troublesome to arrange for import procedures. Ask the seller if they can sell CIF terms, ie their shipment includes insurance (just in case something happens) and freight, ask them to include delivery. If they use well known forwarders, they will have Singapore office, then u can ask the Singapore office to help with import procedures (of coz u will have to pay GST and any duties/taxes) Hope this helps

Chisiang 2nd Gear December 11, 2007 Share December 11, 2007 Bro, Sending parts by LCL is not cheap if the items are small. EMS is only slightly more expensive if the item is of hand carry size. If you go by LCL, you will incur trucking cost in Japan and Singapore unless the Japanese retailer quote you FOB. However, most freight forwarder can provide door to door delivery. Port to port delivery is very troublesome especially if you need to borrow a truck to bring home your goodies. But then again, if the goodies don't need a truck you might wanna try EMS. ↡ Advertisement
