Application9999 Clutched December 15, 2007 Author Share December 15, 2007 From my friend experience, the GPS is design not to work during the car in motion. You can't enter anything or play with it when the car is moving....safety feature lah ↡ Advertisement

Lloh108 Neutral Newbie December 16, 2007 Share December 16, 2007 I am driving one. Personally, I think it has the better look and value for money in its class - built-in GPS is a standard, Bose Sound System etc.... Except for the fuel consumption, everything else is fine... Dnaz Neutral Newbie December 16, 2007 Share December 16, 2007 (edited) ok i just got myself one 3 mths ago. heres my input: I comtemplated between the following models: 1. CX7 2. CRV 3. Outlander, not my kind of design, too boxy and sharpy I chose Murano 2.5 after careful considerations, I am 1.83m tall, rather big size so I would love a spacious interior as first priority, following priorites as per follows: 1. Exterior Design and features Going for the lasting look not the kill, as any trendy design like CX7 will be "slightly nicer" for now but will be dated as soon. - Murano's design top my consideration with its sleek curves and and clean design lights, as to my preference, more lasting as i am gonna drive this longer to save money. 2. Interior Design and features being a later model, CX7 comes equipped with better sound system (Bose 7.1 over Murano's 5.1), cruise control which the murano also lacks. its a slight pain to go without this but i chose Murano because me and my girl felt so much more confortable sitting in it, i would say a lot more well designed and spacious then CX7 for my size. CRV has only basic features like Rav 4...not enticing at all 3. Fuel Consumption, Performance Did some reasearch, dunno how accurate, summary: CX7 is damn fast but drinks as much! a good discipline foot gives u best around approx 7km/litre. Murano's engine is quite loud when u raf it hard, proofing at the firewall can be more ideal, and its quite underpowered i felt. why i chose murano instead, FC and also i reminded myself if i really want a performance car, i wont look at this SUV and MPV range, i bought this for cruising + comfort. =)if you are a guy who die for performance with a spacious interior, CX7 is ur best bet. 4. GPS Navigation system I felt Nissan's are the best around, of coz make sure u are talking about the latest version, the earlier versions sucks. its the 3rd version now. all my passengers was amazed at how it works.. cant comment on CX7 and CRV as i see none at the point when i went look see look see. overall on my Murano: very comfortable, even more so for passengers at the back seat, my clients will sms me and tell me how shiok the car is after alighting. FC is ok at around 8+ now, guess it will improve after run in. if i really wanna be picky, the part where the loud engine when raf harder should be just it. i realise murano's design comes as a u hate or love it category. i personally didnt like the grill that much when i first saw it, seems like acquired taste, i find it nicer by day and definitely unique now as i grew to love the car more, maybe its a "i love my own car" mentality haha. personally i felt if u wanna buy a high car, shouldnt think of bodykit or ways to make it lower... a bit contradicting hehe...i used to doll up my car.. but now i left murano at stock as its already nice.. and lasting. just sharing my inputs based on my own preferencs =) gotta go off now, will update more if needed when i get back, havea good weekend ppl Edited December 16, 2007 by Dnaz

Application9999 Clutched December 16, 2007 Author Share December 16, 2007 (edited) bro, i know what am talking about. I play with the GPS. Basically, you have to set it before you move off. Also told by my friend that if you shut it off without first exit it when it still doing it navigation, the system will hang,......if none of the above mentioned...am not sure then. Heard there is a latest version and the ealier one sucks.... Edited December 16, 2007 by Application9999

Dnaz Neutral Newbie December 16, 2007 Share December 16, 2007 bro, 1 thing to note, am not sure if its a big thing to you, my murano's stock headunit 3 months ago does not play MP3s! where else CX7's does! double check with tan chong if the latest headunit is MP3 capable. sorry i forgotten to highlight this as i replace my stock with another headunit =) just to clarify on the GPS, no input while on the move is correct, but its definitely viewable and the screen updates with GPS from grid to grid of the map while ure traveling, and with the voice directions of coz, also warning you of speed cameras and erp gantries ahead, of coz all these needs to sync with updated maps as time goes on, unfortunately KPE is still not updated. Cyberchip17 Neutral Newbie December 20, 2007 Share December 20, 2007 Yup my headunit can't play mp3. And it still has a slot to play cassettes right? My stock tyres (Dunlop) have very poor wet grip. Driving through puddles at medium speed is a nightmare. Must drive very slow when the roads are wet. Going to change those tyres soon.

Takehit Neutral Newbie February 4, 2008 Share February 4, 2008 If you are changing your tyres try Toyo Proxes ST it cut thru water like knife, I change mine old tyres out and the grip at wet weather is pretty good
Cyberchip17 Neutral Newbie February 4, 2008 Share February 4, 2008 Yes, the Toyo Proxes are in my shortlist! Dealer in Ubi is it? Will change them at 40,000 km, all 4. Thanks for the tip!
Takehit Neutral Newbie February 6, 2008 Share February 6, 2008 Can consider pxx xxxg, last charge me $295 nett per tube. If you have extra cash, may consider changing out the original rim which is from Thailand to Japan rim, it helps. My mileage is about 9km/l (50/50 highway&city)

Friendstar Supercharged February 7, 2008 Share February 7, 2008 considering this monster.....Beside the fuel guzzler thingy, how you see this car? It had been in the market for some year (since 2005) and these comment from your guys should be after the so-called ''new toilet' effect. Anyone own it or still love to own one? Looks cannot last. Friendstar Supercharged February 7, 2008 Share February 7, 2008 2.5 is under powered in my opinion..the V6 is a better option... Never buy under powered SUVs...trust me I used to own a LandCruiser 2.7l...drive until wanna cry... wahhh 2.7 still underpower? i know its a landcruiser. but i thought 2.7 should be adequate
