Why there are more singles out there now then ever?

There are indications that the number of singles here are growing in numbers ever more than before....such that dating or matching agencies have turn this 'opportunity' as a possible business with profits to be made!...even the gov have jump into such ventures by providing 'seed' $$$ to fund such ventures!

 

But there are also indication that even with such agencies and prodding by the gov, many would still NOT tie that knot...The above being some of the possible reason(s) but what else could be the other reason(s)?

I've qutie a number of guy friends (mid 20s) who are not yet attached despite having good careers/family etc...from my observations and past relationships, many local girls seems to be very passive when it comes to r/s.

IMO, Those singles out there are mostly men, especially rich men.

Many wants to retire young and retire rich.

To get married, means they have to spend their next 30 years working hard to pay off mortgage loans, car loans, provide for wife, provide for kids and aged parents (both side). This is a problem in the current society.

people get married for a variety of reasons including hdb thanks to the govt.

 

for one companionship.

 

i know of many married couples who choose not to have kids and i for one would never want a kid even if the govt were to throw millions at me i will still say no.
