I just returned from Hokkaido, with the ANA tour.

Yes, it is cold..... it is the first time that temepratures plummetted below zero degrees at some places.

First night in Hokkaido will be Sapporo, will be city area, you will spend evening out walking on the streets. It was snowing when I was crossing the mountain range, .... cannot remember the names of the places, but I had two nights at two different hot springs...... get good socks. double layer if need, and if you don't like wearing long johns, get socks up to your knees....... Japanese gals were still in mini skirts last week and their thighs were bare........

For cold, your body loses heat from your head, hands and feet. Therefore, you must protect those areas.... wear a ball cap or a woollen cap, depending on how well you are tolerant of the cold. Then gloves, I normally don't as I put my hands in my pockets, have good socks.... wear a muffler scarf, to prevent cold wind from entering your jacket from you neck opening.....

During CNY period, temeperatures can be down to minus 20 degrees, lowest I had last week was minus 7........ but the wind chill was colder.....

If you are spending your day out in theme parks like disney or universal, bringalong a jacket to protect yourself, as you will be out in the open....

For me, my jackets and winter stuff are from overseas, I have a heavy lamb wool leather jacket, which protects me well.....

Below are some winter scene from last week......

I did not snap many pictures as I had a few other camera persons doing the work. Most pics I took were with my mobile phone cam. No springs pics, no cam allowed in the bath area.

It was a 8 days trip, landing in Tokyo, then hop to another plane to Osaka, spend a day at Universal, the Shinkansen to Nagoya to spend a night, then next morning, flight from Centrair (Nagoya Airport) to Chitose, which is nearest airport to Sapporo.... then for the next few days spent travelling in Hokkaido.... 2nd last day flew back to Tokyo, spend a day at Disney, I chose Sea as I have been to and...... spend a night near Narita airport, .... last day had a half day shopping at Aeon Mall in Narita... then off to airport for flight home.....

How much I paid, no lah, no need to mention...... and don't compare as either one of us will go "aiyah"........

Try and visit Otaru if you're there. Its a really nice place.

I'm thinking of driving up to Wakkanai this time round. They run dog sledge races there so must be quite nice to see my furry friends running around.. Too bad I can't bring mine along
