Can anyone adv what should we wear in order to keep us warm and where can we get winter wear locally? Any brand shd we look for?

Also what to look out for when buying these apparels?

And is it a must to get those down jackets? Wl there be any diff in term of 70% down and 90% down?

Sorry to ask so many question .. first time going to so cold country .. dont know can taha or not ... [sweatdrop][sweatdrop]

Go to John Little winter wear , well it used to be at somerset mrt station, the old chaps (sales person) there would be able to tell u which to buy...... no need to buy 'look good' outfits, just get ones that suit your needs.

Also its not just the jackets, u need to get the err wat u call inner wear...white color for top and bottom......Tell them the climate, u did most probably getting nearly near 100% wool.

All I know SGP winter wear all CMI. [furious] They are super O'Biang and hardly protect you from the element [dead]

I thrashed all those bought in SGP...

My advice, if you don't go to winter country so often then just borrow from a friend. If you intend to frequent cold places, then just get one for now and buy over at whatever place you will be going.

Instead of buying one thick otherwear, staying warm is about layering.

wear many loose layer (thermal wear, t shirt, shirt etc) and then your outer wear. layering trap heat.

See if there are winter sales in Singapore from big labels

for e.g. Got a nautica jacket for 100+ when original was $400.

Sg buy not cheap. Japan buy maybe lagi ex. [laugh]

I usually buy from Nautical Wisma/Vivo/Marina Sq. They have quite nice winter wear. Not cheap but cheaper than brands like Timberland and Northface. [laugh]

Last time I went to China during winter time, I buy 1set of winter clothing from sg and the rest go China buy [laugh]. I also realise their(China) sheep's wool knitted underwear are much better at keeping u warm but sg cannot find. Jacket look nice only but cannot really keep u warm.
