Dumb 4th Gear November 28, 2007 Share November 28, 2007 I just bought season parking in a HDB MSCP. I find the layout ridiculous. Usually I come home late and have to park at level A5 or B4 or even the roof top. $90 for open car park at top level. When going down, I find it silly driving all the way to one end of the car park and then driving all the way back to go down to the next level. At every level you repeat the same thing. What a waste of time, petrol and my right tyre will botak soon. Stupid designer. Even the toilet door in the master BR opens in the middle of the toilet. When I use the basin, I must close the bloody door or else ...... watch your back., ↡ Advertisement

Dumb 4th Gear November 28, 2007 Author Share November 28, 2007 When moving from one end to the other, level by level to look for a parking space is not so bad. But when coming down, it's just silly and meaningless moving from end to end, level by level.

Porker Turbocharged November 28, 2007 Share November 28, 2007 You can propose a new design if you have a better one. There are regulations stating minimum turning radius and width for carparks so the An Gee Neers have to work based on that lor
Rev2redline Neutral Newbie November 28, 2007 Share November 28, 2007 True true.. My carpark is terrible too.. Very difficult to get a parking lot when coming home at night.. gotta at least park at the second last deck normally when i get home around 10 - 11pm.. and yes, park at the top most deck after midnight.. It's like a roller coaster ride every time i get the car from the carpark.. going down the levels that are usually full... It's only in the afternoon around 1pm-3pm when i can get the 2nd level or so.. At least it beats the corkscrew type of carparks that u have to drive up in circles before reaching the first deck.. Familymanz 3rd Gear November 28, 2007 Share November 28, 2007 sama sama.... i always have to park @ 5th level.......
Falc 3rd Gear November 28, 2007 Share November 28, 2007 U bet. Stupid design. I calculated once, all these detour going up the levels caused my FC to suffer at least 5% degradation over a month.
Sickscientist Clutched November 28, 2007 Share November 28, 2007 What to do?? Unless u want car lifts to be installed too, then u wont be paying $90 already... Sing Kar Por is already small, land is a limited resource... So to create more space we need to go upwards... An idea is to cover the topmost deck entirely.. Beei 1st Gear November 28, 2007 Share November 28, 2007 i think some of them are designed differently.. There are some HDB carparks when i parked nicely in the lot..both me and my passenger cannot get out.. and i drive a vios, not a big car or anything!! sometime I think these carparks are designed for bikes only.. Sosaria Twincharged November 28, 2007 Share November 28, 2007 I also have a HDB MSCP "horror" story... I usually park my vehicle at a neighbouring carpark because it allows use of both a covered car park and surrounding open-space parking. But recently because of lift and donno what upgrading... many of the open-space lots are permanently occupied by construction equipment - and happened to be red lots too! Due to the sudden shortage of parking space, even the covered car park is now quite filled up... I found out that the upgrading work can take a couple of months or even up to a year Donno what we're paying season parking for? Should get a discount for such inconveniences... Dumb 4th Gear December 19, 2007 Author Share December 19, 2007 What to do?? Unless u want car lifts to be installed too, then u wont be paying $90 already... Sing Kar Por is already small, land is a limited resource... So to create more space we need to go upwards... An idea is to cover the topmost deck entirely.. Not complaining about the lift but the design of MSCP. Now I use to drive down the up slope to get down since it just besides the down slope instead of driving to the other end to get down. Quite ok since I leave car park around 10 am and unlikely anyone would drive up when first level got empty lots. That shoud also balance my tyres wear and tear. Only need to do some reversing at every level. Another stupid flaw is that when you park in the inner lots, you can never open your rear car boot. Also no reason to build a deck between 2 levels instead of a level deck. Any point is MSCP should be cheaper than open car parks in land scare Sg. HDB save space to built more flats and money and yet want to collect more with MSCP. ↡ Advertisement
