i mix all the time whenever i go in jb...(3/4 tank sg fuel + 1/4 jb fuel)....no problems at all for my previous 3 makes! laugh.gif

I guess everyone does as the petrol grades in JB differs from ours... Unless you are pumping V Power... I understand that the lowest grade is RON 91 right?

===================

I always tot MY petrol is 92 & 97 ron?

All should only have RON 91 and 97... Other than that is V Power liao... RON 97 was about RM1.97 or 1.98... Cheap compared to our ridiculous fuel prices... Machiam like the stations here giving 50% off on fuel like that...

===================

I think 97RON is RM1.91/lit & V-Power is also 97RON but costs more due to their "special" additives. [sly]

do ron98 really gives more kick than ron95 if the engine is 'designed' to accept ron95 as described in the manual.

====================

Depends on what car u drive. Some it makes no diff but some can detect it's higher RON & give a little more power when u push it.

I just changed my fuel filter after >30K km even though it didn't give me any problems.

And I use almost 100% JB fuel. [confused]

Did you cut it open??? [sly] This was a dare by my mechanic. He said if the filter was ever clean (i.e. little to no sediment), the servicing would be free. Anyway he did cut open a SG fuel only filter at 10000 and it was much better than the jb fuel mixed filters.

Anyway the basic idea is saying that if you pump jb fuel often, change the filter more often than if you don't. I actually think its the tanks that are the issue.

Yo Thread starter. Not to scare you but... seriously....

Previous experience ah. They might have improved already but anyways:

I used to pump petrol like once every 3days. At Various shell petrol kiosks in JB. What i've noticed after sometime is that my fuel filter is pretty messed up - by that i meant clogged up. I'm not 100% sure if its caused by the fuel in JB. But it was the same with my previous 2 bike's fuel filter.

So you might wanna check your ride's fuel filter after a period of time. See if its brown and clogged up. [:)]

hi , where to check the fuel filter

I'm surprised nobody else notice that for JB fuel. I used to need to change the fuel filter every 10000kms with JB fuel mixed in and 20000kms for SG fuel only.

how to tell ur filter's clogged? mine is 42k, most of the time on JB petrol

so far so good. but maybe shd change it soon. actually the filter supposed to last 60k or more on my ride

It will give you better mileage when you mix both.

========================

I not too sure cos I don't really monitor my FC so closely. I have mixed different brands of petrol b4 & sometimes seem like it uses up faster. [confused]

I regularly mix SG SPC & MY Mobil cos these r the 2 I am using now. Not too sure abt FC but it seems about the same. [rolleyes]

My car's lowest RON level is at 91 so no problem... But will keep the RON level above 95...

====================

If u pump a full tank of RON 92 & u don't have knocking when accelerating hard, then u can just pump RON 92 all the way. No point wasting your $$$ on RON 95.
