Mixing of petrol...

Hello to all... I've recently started the trend of pumping JB fuel. I've pumped Shell 95 all along and I've mixed it with Caltex 97 while I was in JB for fuel for the first time. Subsequently, I've been using Shell 97. Any implications with me doing this? Is it alright to mix petrol of different octane grade? Was thinking of pumping V-Power the next time round I'm inside. Please advise. Thanks. smile.gif

i mix 95 with 98 before, 95 from different brand of petrol before, all no problem. I notice i mix SPC and Shell 95 together i get better FC. However its still under observation dunno whether its true or not

So long it is petrol of certain Octane, water & sediment free - there should not be any problem. Always avoid old petrol stations as thier underground petrol tanks may containt accumulated sediment and moisture over the years. Also petrol stations that are sited at low laying areas where flood water can easily seep into the underground tanks via the ground level opening

Neutral Newbie

I do that all the time. 98 in Singapore and sometimes 97 in JB. No diff. Engine power output slightly lesser. Can feel on my ride, though not substantial.

Mixing different petrol brands also no prob, it seems. Have all the while mixed petrol. Just dun go lower than the recommended octane level, esp for jdm sports cars. [idea]

Was hearing some say that mixing petrol of different grade is bad for the engine as the "ingredients" are different...
