Does Install Amps affect Car performance?

A typical ICE with amps will drain the battery in no time. In reality, even though the connection is from the battery, the alternator is maintaining the current.

Unless your ICE is causing your voltage to peak and drop significantly, thereby affecting ignition of the spark plugs timing, you should not feel any difference in engine performance.

yo man

to put in simple terms

the battery is to start the car.

after that, the electrical needs of the car is supported by the alternator

if u look at ur battery connections, there is a wire from the alternator. the alternator charges the battery.

so in an indirect way, the amp power cable is " connected" to the alternator since the amp lug is connected. can picture.

anyway, if u wanna try, go invest in some grouding,it might help and is relatively cheap to do.

addin a caps wont help.

cheers

JUst now I ask my installer to remove all the ICE cable connection to battery. Vola! My car feel lighter, performance has improve but still not as responsive as before. [:(]

Really don't know how to explain, never happen to my previous ride??? [dizzy]

Do grounding and voltage stabilizer. Should help to give a more responsive ride. Want lagi better response, lup in a SCC with CAI.

I think your battery cannot cope with the additional power drain from the two amps.

The battery is also needed to operate the ecu and many sensors.

A weak battery can affect performance of the car.

It could be the battery is not being charged properly or it is dying already.

If possible, you might want to try with a new battery or borrow one first.

Dear all, need some feedback...

I notice a slight drop in car performance(pick up) after installing 2 nos. of amps in my new car. Does anybody experience that?

probably your amps total wattage exceed your car batt ampere. adviseable to add a capacitor between your amps to batt via fuse block.

i do experience some drop in performance when my stereo is on.. guess the car needs to channel some energy to keep the bass going... hahaha

i think maybe one of your amps is fxxk up. your system is not so hungry .i am running 2 amps in my system ,one amp is running at 1ohm around 1400w and the othersamp also running around 800w ,i am using stock battery and already two years+ ,so far so good ,never got this problem before.

but my friend did experience on this with a faulty amp .just overnite after installing the amp ,the battery goes flat.
