Funkyjazz Neutral Newbie November 27, 2007 Author Share November 27, 2007 Hi Vblaster, When you said ICE draws power from alternator, do you mean the amp cable is connected to alternator?
Donraj Neutral Newbie November 27, 2007 Share November 27, 2007 Install a capacitor to solve your problem.
Vblaster_w211 2nd Gear November 27, 2007 Share November 27, 2007 A typical ICE with amps will drain the battery in no time. In reality, even though the connection is from the battery, the alternator is maintaining the current. Unless your ICE is causing your voltage to peak and drop significantly, thereby affecting ignition of the spark plugs timing, you should not feel any difference in engine performance. Headshok 1st Gear November 27, 2007 Share November 27, 2007 yo man to put in simple terms the battery is to start the car. after that, the electrical needs of the car is supported by the alternator if u look at ur battery connections, there is a wire from the alternator. the alternator charges the battery. so in an indirect way, the amp power cable is " connected" to the alternator since the amp lug is connected. can picture. anyway, if u wanna try, go invest in some grouding,it might help and is relatively cheap to do. addin a caps wont help. cheers

Dunno Neutral Newbie November 27, 2007 Share November 27, 2007 Do grounding and voltage stabilizer. Should help to give a more responsive ride. Want lagi better response, lup in a SCC with CAI.
Wankie Clutched November 27, 2007 Share November 27, 2007 your amps like 10000 watts each? could be something else lah, better get it checked...
Kb27 Supersonic November 27, 2007 Share November 27, 2007 I think your battery cannot cope with the additional power drain from the two amps. The battery is also needed to operate the ecu and many sensors. A weak battery can affect performance of the car. It could be the battery is not being charged properly or it is dying already. If possible, you might want to try with a new battery or borrow one first.
Vblaster_w211 2nd Gear November 27, 2007 Share November 27, 2007 Refer to past posts - it is not likely to be the battery.
A881010 Neutral Newbie November 27, 2007 Share November 27, 2007 Dear all, need some feedback... I notice a slight drop in car performance(pick up) after installing 2 nos. of amps in my new car. Does anybody experience that? probably your amps total wattage exceed your car batt ampere. adviseable to add a capacitor between your amps to batt via fuse block. Psfong Clutched November 28, 2007 Share November 28, 2007 Hmmm, its possible that the installer reset the ECU when installing the ICE...
