Is Goodyear F1 sidewall too soft for you?

1. It seems that Goodyear F1 sidewall is rather soft, barely less than a year and without tracking the side profile and treads begaining to show obvious sign of thining and aging.

 

2. Do you guys who are on this made also experiencing the same issue?

 

3. I wonder which are the tyres than have a stronger side-wall that at least last a year or so.

I am using them now... And the sidewall still shows interest in doing its job...

Thats why I advice people dont use this tyre. I got rid of mine after 20k km.

this is one weird tire becos the more u pump the better it grips...got try up to 260kpa before

 

trial and error see wat pressure u like...

I used to have CSC2 and Hankook K104 - both served me well over the years .. esp the former.

 

Even my Falken512 was good ... no complaints.

i am using made in germany 15 inch F1

pumped 260kpa for front and 235kpa for back tyres..

so far...so good leh..

cut water very good...

running 90kmph on rainy days no problem....

Some minor damages due to rubbing with curb but I bo chap .

Perhaps you can fill us in on what's the mileage for ur tyres, did any drifting, etc?

 

Mine's still looking good after > 1 year even though I've went for advance driving course by Stamford.

 

One thing I know is the tyre compound are those sticky type so wear and tyre is higher than other UHP tyres.

 

Can't comment on others as the other one that I've been on is ST115 - sucks like hell

The construction is completely different. Details as follows:



German Tyre

Tread - 6 plies (2 rayon cord + 2 steel cord + 2 nylon cord)

Sidewall - 2 plies (Rayon Cord)



Thailand/China Tyre

Tread - 5 plies (2 polyester cord + 2 steel cord + 1 nylon cord)

Sidewall - 2 plies (polyester cord)

totally agreed, last month both my right tyres scratched kerb, one tyre side wall torn and puctured, the other one behind has the sidewall torn out but not enough to puncture it, now i have 2 new F1 in front and 2 old ones behind ....sigh....unlucky.
