potenza G3 no longer in production, if u get any, it'll be old stock..

for GR80, the recommended replacement from hankook shd be V8RS. not RS2

RS2 is more for crazy dry grip than anything else. u sacrifice comfort and noise level. depends on what u want out of ur tyre. i know the RS2 doesn't shred on a hot track, but for daily running, it shd be less durable than comfort-biased tyres too.. soft sticky compound [sly]

Eagle F1's (from Germany) are pretty good for their road holding.

I drive and drift on Kumho KU31 tires, predicatable control and drift outcomes with it so far.

I'd avoid Michelin Pilot Precedas as they give you very last minute warning when they're going to lose grip

Toyo tires are pretty grippy too, somewhere along the line of the Advan Neova

You can also try Cooper Tires. Tried and proven locally in drift events too.

The other one that was recently featured in Nov's Carma magazine were those from Firestone, also proven during drift events where tires mean everything to us

but one thing for sure....

the down side of V8 is its super soft compound with silica.

for good grip , soft comfort , trade with super fast wear rate !!!

think one harder compound tire set say averages abt 1.5yr lifespan

V8 will score less than 1 yr lifespan

hmmm..

i might wanna object that..

i just switched to V8RS abt 3 weeks back and the wet grip is not as good as GR-80..the aquaplaning resistance is good..but then, on semi wet surface, not as grippy as GR-80..

I used GR80 for about 40,000km and V8RS for about 18000km so far. Based on my own experience, V8 is better in almost all depts...now i can take corners with much higher confidence both in the wet and dry. As for quietness, I still feel GR80 slightly better.

just my 2 cents.

maybe your mileage is quite high?

I clock an average of 25000km a year, so even the stock tyres can last more than 2 years for me. Threads still quite thick but i usually replace them because they were losing grip.

So far I've used my V8RS for 9 months...thread still very thick. I think they can easily last 2 years for my usage.
