I called them. Thanks for the pm bro. They quoted me $10 higher than elsewhere. That i think is ok, not too far off but they are not the cheapest. Maybe because i female so a little more ex. that i understand. They also told me not to use Vartar because ALOT of ppl complain abt the reliability of the batt.

So wet battery can last longer and the diff is wet one required to top-up battery when necessary? Anyway, wet one should be much cheaper than the MF one. Correct?

Thanks.

I just changed my car battery after 2.5 years. Original batt was a MF battery. I opted for the traditional wet battery because MF battery don't last as long and when they die, they just die without warning. Wet batteries will show signs of dying and give you advance warning like more struggle to start the car in the morning - engine crank up takes a bit longer, etc. I hate it when the battery dies on me suddenly as I was caught with a dead MF battery in the middle of a drive twice. I ended up paying for towing to a mechanic and then for a fresh battery.

Wet batts are cheaper, lasts longer, topping up the water is low cost $1/bottle and you can use any distilled water like those from your office cooler, and you can see when its going to die on you. You only need to check once every 2-3 months.

The flip side is that MF batt gives out more power (higher acid content) and a lot of the younger generation drivers uses it since they have all sorts of lights and gizmos in their car...plus they don't like to get their hands grubby.

The shop is no longer selling Yuasa wet batts when I called them late last year. According to the shop, drivers are complaining about the batts.

I just changed mine..got them to come to my place cos cant start at all..

$130. i remembered paying $70 the last time round only..

70% increase due to lead prices, lead plates in old batteries are also commanding higher prices now and guess who are the ones laughing their way to the bank.

Tyres prices up as well. [:|]

Paid $160 for a new 62Ah Bosch battery in Feb this year, previous Panasonic MF cost only $60.
