Hi

Can advise me on the amount of engine oil that is required for a M.Lancer, 2005 model.

Just need a gauge if its more or less than 4L since most oil comes in 4L package.

Thanks in advance!

look at the manual, it should be stated in there.

Amount of oil depends on whether manufacturer design the sump to be big or small. eg of cars with small sumps are Nissan Latio and Sunny, both require only about 2.8L. For small sump engines, you have to follow the service intervals diligently, cos the oil should be fully expensed.

thank you for taking the time to explain in detail. Certainly put fears to ease.

in this instance, it would be prudent for me to buy individual 1L bottles for future usage.

Have a nice day.

3 litres are enough. But when I go servicing, my mechanic will pour about 3.5 litres. Then he will check the engine oil dipstick.

Our lancer owners' manual have stated it very clearly.

yes but it is old design mercs engine....

most diesel engine are using the more efficient direct injection....the musso is using the indirect injection

the only thing good about indirect injection is that i can use cooking oil whereas the newer diesel engine need to use bio diesel (which require conversion from cooking oil)

that was fast, thanks!

3L does sound a bit too little for a 1.5L car ya?

Believe it or not, Sunny 1.6 uses only 2.7L and that's including changing of oil filter. Stated in the manual.
