Cmwmsoh Neutral Newbie October 12, 2009 Share October 12, 2009 Haha both of us jumped at the same statements, at almost the same time. Yeah ... only a couple of mins apart some more. But anyway, I do like the GS300, nearly bought one about 2 years back. Test drove it, and fell in love with the smoothness of the ride. I like the Merc as well, was eyeing the CLC, just to have a different kind of feel. My wife kind of liked the A-class too. In the end, decided on a swede, for many reasons, and am still happy with it. But one day, will probably get a E-class or GS. There's many reasons why people choose different cars, and there's really no need to say one is better than the other. Many years back, when I was still in school, my "dream car" was the old cat-eye Elantra. Why? Coz that was the only car I thought I could ever afford, coming from a really humble background. My very first car was a very very old Ford Escort, which many people laughed at ... but still, I loved it ... coz it was a present from my mum, and she couldn't really afford it, but scrimped and saved to get me my first set of wheels. For those who have the priviledge of being able to afford really good cars, and think they have the right to call all other cars crap ... well, to each his own. I might be driving something crap, but its really not the material aspect of the physical object that brings a smile to my face. ↡ Advertisement

I had my choices down to the last-generation GS300 or the S80 - went for the S80 as the GS300 was in its last model year in 2004 and BM didn't even bother to let anyone test drive it. The choice may be different today, but I'm locked into 'Volvo for Life' haha
