Cheating about the parts are nothing as they have already cheated on the true horsepower of their cars as Japanese cars horsepower on paper spec are based on Fly Wheel which means the horsepower tested is just the engine itself without fitted into the body and 4 wheels. You will notice when most of the models with full load, they will have problem with the power and pickup.

As for Korean cars, they are following the European makes which means the horsepower on paper spec are based On Wheel and it means the engine horsepower is tested when it is mounted with the body and wheels. So that explains our Korean cars have no problem even if our car are with full load, we have no problem on the pickup and power. thumbsup.gif

I thought Latio should get better FC as the car is so much lighter than other makes? How come the FC so high?

subject ur Cerato V2 to a 20HW/80City pattern & see if it can achieve 11~12 lorrolleyes.gif

What I can say is that even if I can not get 11-12km/litre on a 20HW/80City pattern but I have save up my the cash on cost price of the car for usage in petrol rather than spending it in the car price which goes to the government and bank in return.

Do take note that Korean cars engine horsepower is based ON Wheel instead of Fly Wheel like the Japanese cars, guess everybody knows about this.

so now u toking FC or BHP laugh.giflaugh.giflaugh.gif

Am not referring to any specific model but if korean car's bhp is measured at the wheels, shouldn't the Bhp figure listed for auto and manual have a huge difference? Since the auto's output is largely sapped by torque converter already. But the listed spec sheet output figures are always the same be it auto or manual leh.. am i missing anything here?

you are right that auto output is sapped by the tc, but when it comes down to FC, it doesn't really matter because we are not racing [;)]

an auto box can do approx 1800rpm @ 80kph. i highly doubt a manual box can do so at the same speed.

by that, if you travel long distances, the benefits of the low RPM will cover a lot of the shortcomings of auto box already.

I don't think there will be any difference whether it is Auto or Manual Transmission as the horsepower is measured when the engine is mounted onto the body with the wheels without truely running on the road so that means the engine horsepower is much higher when it is dismounted from the body and wheels.

If the engine horsepower is based on Fly Wheels then when it is mounted onto the body and wheels, the original engine horsepower will drop by around 20-30bhp as the power is spilt up to power the 4 wheels.
