My advante also around 6 months old but me had hit near to 10K IN MILEAGE.

You should see after 10K servicing, previously i hit 10km/L, now 12km/L on average

I am an average driver. on off heavy right footer. I average 11km/L on Vpower on my previous 2.0 Avante le. For a 2000cc car is pretty impressive. [:p]

I am driving the facelifted avante(A), if the instrument can be trusted, my current fc is 7.4ltr/100km (13.5km/ltr). Could the TS have seen wrongly if bought the car 4 months ago then it should be facelifted one with the fc meter right? if the fc meter shows 8, then it should mean 8ltr/100km or 12.5km/ltr and not 8km per ltr.

i am driving an auto avante and the consumption is an average of 12km/l. IMO Pretty decent for a 1.6l. =)

2 rpm? do u mean 2k rpm? anyway jus to share..for mine, the automatic changes to higher gear at around 2.5k to 3k rpm.. and its usually higher when i am changing from gear 1 to gear 2 as compared from gear 3 to gear 4.. cruise is just slight above 2k rpm though...

Hi bros, i'm also driving an avante (auto). the car is about 1.5 years old.

Just to share on the changes in my FC since i got the car - it used to be about 12km/l during the first 6 months (80% highway). Due to some changes in my life, i had to do with more city driving (comprising many short trips < 2km each during weekdays) , and my fc now is 10km/l (80% city).

I can consider myself relatively light footed - my rpm is always between 2-2.5k rpm.

By the way, my driving pattern is 90-10(10 for expressway)

What's worse is that im a manual, with an average of 2-2.5Krpm and using fuel 8000.

What can i do to increase the FC? any suggestions? [:(]

1) Reduce cruising speed. Between 80 ~ 90 km/hr.

2) Keep clear distance from front vehicle on slow speed and high speed traffic.

3) Accelerate and decelerate smoothly, and gently. If possible drive like a Presidential limo driver. :D

4) Inflate tyres between 10 ~ 20% more than recommended.

5) If you drive manual, upshift your gear as soon as you possibly can without straining the engine.

There are many more ways. These are the most basic.

This is considered reasonable as you are only 10% on highway.

Try driving more aggressively and see if FC is about the same. I bet not much diff unless you whack gear 1 so hard till 5K rpm! [laugh]

Your FC is high may be due to inefficient ultilisation of engine torque & power since you quickly change up gear at 2K rpm = your engine will be labouring in it's next gear.
