TB:

The magnet works.. my half tank is 330KM compared to 300 the last time. [laugh][laugh] .

Anyway. did somemore grounding on my chasis yesterday...

Also, I realised that my pick up is faster and I do not have to tap real hard to hit 90KM per hour... (Thanks to Paul for the magnet for the oil filter.. I bought a $3 magnet real powerful from Sim Lim Tower to replace it).

Andy: Did you managed to find out the Magnet Company contact ??

May the magnetic force be with me !!! [laugh][laugh]

Hi,

Did u attach magnets to the base of your oil filter? My friend passed me 2 HDD magnets (supposed to be super strong)-slightly better pick-up, but not much improvement in fuel economy.

Can share what u did to your car?

Harddisk Magnet is not strong.. best is probably Woofer Speaker Magnet.

Going to destroy one pair from my old spoilt Woofer

Wait a minute..

AutoS should have many unwanted speakers (since he works in ICE shop).

Can bother him to give us the unwanted speaker and we just rip the magnet off...

[laugh][laugh][laugh] ...

Just a thought !! [:p]

Do realise I've searched high and low in Singapore for damn strong magnets but couldn't find any that can equal the force of the magnets I have now.

I've experimented with countless types of magnets and so far my current batch in 2 pairs works best.

Glad U found them useful [cool]

SORRY! everyone, a new bird here and do not really catch it. [blush]

is that meant that by placing a pc of magnet at fuel tank u can more milerage? pls enlighten, many many thanks.

I think the strongest magnet available now would be Neodymium Iron Boron. A small 4cm x 1cm can have the strength of 3500 Gauss.

Is the oil filter made of Iron? You can check by placing a magnet on it, if it sticks, it's made of iron. Placing a piece of magnet on iron will not work as the magnetic field will be disrupted.

Hi Mike..

Glad to hear from you .!!!

Yes. the oil filter is made of iron... the purpose of placing the magnet (1 sided magnet, the reverse side does not attract) is to hold the oxidazation from the filter to stick to the filter base.

Any comments ???

OK, I think, in theory, it's very good but whether it works or not I'm not so sure. You can do this experiment. Use a thin iron plate to simulate the casing of the oil filter. Stick on the magnet to one side. See how many paper clip it can pick up on the other side. Repeat the experiment with another non-iron plate, copper, aluminium or plastic. See how many paper clips it can pick up this time.

All I know is that iron weakens the magnetic field at the other side.

I think the aim is for the magnet to pick up micro iron shavings from the engine block so that it will not be returned to the circulation, reducing engine wear.

Hi mike..

You are right.. to pick up the micro iron shavings.

BTW... after TB did the north - south magnet thingy on my fuel/air intake.. my half tank hits about 330Km... used to be only 260km (before I did the air-intake cooling with aerotape and radiator cooling with Alu Foils).

I can feel the power and the reduction in fuel consumption.
