Eyke Supercharged May 26, 2003 Share May 26, 2003 it's not necessarily true that your consumption will increase when you go from 14" to 15", it depends on whether your 15" rims is lighter or heavier than your 14". depending on how much lighter is the 15" rims, your consumption could stay the same or even improve. strength and weight do not correlate: steel rims are much heavier then forged alloy rims but the latter is much stronger. recommendations depends on your budget. Thanks for the heads-on Eyke! . What would you say would be an optimal rim weight? S2P2 says that for a 15", it's around 5-6kg. How about in general, regardless of the rim size? Is there an optimal rim weight one should aim for? I welcome any recommendations although I'm hoping that the per rim cost doesn't go beyond $150 (or is this too unrealistic?)... Jasper Neutral Newbie May 26, 2003 Share May 26, 2003 thank u all the helpful mcfer... i was actually looking for new set of rims. my old stock toyota rim is spoilt... think i kena kerb too much got dents for 2 rims. i was thinking if getting a 15" or 14" for my 1.3 G8. i made a search in mcf last nite found a lot of people recommending oz ...superlegs... was wondering if good to change my car's leg to this SUPERLEGS... as for shoes, wondering if aspec db or es100 will be a better choice. milgram: wanna change together so as to get discount? *that superleg like very hard to wash... so many spokes.... Milgram Neutral Newbie May 26, 2003 Author Share May 26, 2003 Wht rims are you going for dude? I am still searching the Net for the designs before I call up the dealers. If we can find a common dealer, I definitely won't mind going down with you to get a better price . Btw, I know a lot of people have poohed poohed JRD rims but there's one that I really like - the one that is a complete rip-off of the ROH Blade
Saaber Neutral Newbie May 26, 2003 Share May 26, 2003 Make sure you get a light 15" rim for your car or else acceleration will be quite badly affected......also also fuel consumption will be worse
Virus 2nd Gear May 26, 2003 Share May 26, 2003 Superleg quite common in street, and it's not very shining type. I would go for OZ Titan or Vela. But off course it heavier than SL.
