Hi guys,

Are there any significant differences between the 2 units?

I'm also looking at the pioneer 6850DVD, but more inclined towards alpine..

I hope the W202 being newer, will be GPS expandable

I think the pioneer one does not have GPS capability, nor does it have a good tuning system.

The Pioneer is a 6-disc changer if i'm not wrong.

Both sets do not have much tuning capabilities...howeve, the W202 can connect to a H701 and you will have all the tuning capabilities in the world :)

In terms of GPS, both have add-ons...

I actually came across the W205, which has built in GPS and the GPS can also be removed to make it portable...very cool...but i dunno if it'll be available in SG...saw in US :)

But if it were me, i'll get the W202 cause it has more potential than the Pioneer

This is a very old unit, a lot of people are selling away now.

It has a build in 6 disc DVD changer, but what is the point? It cannot read Divx file, cannot play MP3 song copied on DVD disc (can play on CD disc only) and no USB input.

This is a gem of info.

Thanks bro!

Btw, do you know if the w202 gps can use common gps maps from mapking, etc or its a specialised alpine format only?

Neutral Newbie

if you're saying controlling the touch screen for gps thru alpine lcd, it is not possible at the moment for mapking. u will had to get alpine gps device in order to control from main screen. if u just wanna have the mapking display on the lcd no problem on that. just get a pda or n95 will do the tricks.
