Got some lobang to sell heavy duty machinery like overhead cranes and forklift with my bro-in-law (malaysian).

Thinking of using Singapore as a base to bring in those 2nd hand stuff first before exporting them out again.

Either to service them to sellable condition or short term storage before exporting once found buyer.

Can anyone advise where to start from?

Some simple things I can think of:

1. Register a company first

2. Rent some space to place those machineries

3. Get a forwarder

I have try out your idea in the late 1990's with my Japanses business associates. We imported used excavators and front loaders and 10 wheelers dump trucks.After more than 12 months we decided to call stop the business mainly due to;

a)It's just too expensive to operate a storage yard cum repair base.

b)Very short of skill heavy equipment diesel mech in Spore.

c) Business is cornered by few companies who have very long history of importing and exporting trucks, contruction equipments, forklifts and gen sets.

Thought of basing in Batam , but the poor security, unreliable staff,importation and exportation documentation are just too costly to overcome.
