I'm not sure whether you ppl have the same feeling but I think the kids nowadays seems to think its fun or cool to just amble along the road or traffic light. It seems to me that the dun feel the danger crossing roads. I will try to reach the other side of the road as soon as possible even if the little green man is in my favour

 

i dont blame the kids though but rather to the adults or their guardians

 

how many of us have seen or ourself guilty of crossing

 

1. did not bother to stop before zebra crossing to ensure all cars slow down and let u pass

2. did not bother to wait for pedestrian crossing to change to green before crossing

3. rush to cross even though pedestrian crossing is blinking and about to turn red

4. cross illegally even though designated crossing is only 10-15m away

 

subconciously, the kids will think its alright to do it as their parents do it when the kids are with the parents.

 

i admit yes i did all except number 3 when i'm alone but when with kids in my tow, i tried to set a good example for them to follow by obeying traffic rules for pedestrians

Sometimes they see other ppl doing the same thing and want to try it out

I would get down to check on the boy..in case he need assistance I can drive him to see doc or send him home.

nowsday, I realised that quite a lot of pple, not just kids, seem to cross road without checking. thinking that their skin is thicker than car.

yes. noticed a lot do that, not only kids. adults also.

they are 'confident' that cars will stop for them, simply bo chap.

 

just one fine day a blur fark or drunk driver plough through and they'll get their death wish.

they know that driver is guilty until proven innocent but seriously, they forgot that once crippled (death would have been a blessing), no amount of compensation will be enough. esp in singapore where you dun see million dollar civil suit being successful.

as long as the pedestrains is knock down. jay-walk or not, i think more or less, driver will be charge. life is that unfair.

yeapz, tt's why was tinking wld the driver be more or less at the losing end since they'r the one driving the car who 'should' be looking out for pedestrains who are more 'vulnerable'?
