Hankook K415

guess it's better to give my review with a new thread

as mentioned in another thread, i finally found some

time to change my tyres from Falken Z326 to K415 of Hankook

last evening

had been considering between K415 and GR80 for sometime,

and finally go for K415 as the price is quite competitive.

road noise - greatly reduced. only wind noise is audible

within the car now. let's see wat it is like at 5000km and

10K km. [thumbsup]

grip - still new, need to scrub in a bit more but can already

drive normally without any sign that the tyres are not gripping

well enough. shld be much better after scrub in of 300 to

500 km.

comfort - absorb hump and bump quite well. as the old set

(2 yrs old) give me a ride that is fairly hard with a thump at

times.

personally, i chosen K415 because i wanted to try something new

as my dad and many bros here are already using GR80.

and i can say K415, with the good price range from Robertoon here,

it is a close call between the 2 tyres for comfort, relatively good

road holding, and quiet set of tyres.

the key element that make me take K415 is the silica compound,

which i believe GR80 do not have.

and the guys with Robertoon give really new tyres (3307) which is

estimated to be made in the month of Aug this year.

cheers

(sorry that the pics shows my dirty rims, no time to wash car this

few weeks!)

[laugh]

i tried my fren V8, R15 on the same car model previously.

hmmmm

butt feel, not much diff

however i think the real deal shld be seen from 5000km or 10000km

see if it will get much nosier or losing grip

personally, i think this is more of a comfort type of tyre

with relatively good handling ability good enough for me

was thinking of RS2 initially, but after some thinking i dun need

darn good grip as i dun do tracking with my car.

it was a Want, not a Need for such good tyre of RS2

i need something that is quiet and assuring grip

so far so good. [thumbsup]

but today i check the air on the tyres

they only pump to about 200

went the petrol station near my place, and i find that

it is difficult to pump in some air in my front left

[confused]

took me some time just to get it inflated to 220

wonder if i shld change the valve?

let's see if the pressure drop too much in the next few

days

i think dun have.

cos i did try to find info on it, and no silica mentioned

unless i overlooked it

overall, i reckon GR80 is a good tyre with or without silica

but the presence of silica seems to be a step forward for tyre

construction, hence my choice of K415

thanks, bro.

this morning i check the pressure had remain constant.

perhaps it's the silly pump device at the station..

but also unlikely as the other three can be inflated

quite easily.

anyway, will continue to monitor it

[;)]

for K415, wat's the recommended scrub in period?

cheers
