they sell premium cars at premium prices,yet the service is not premium standard. or is this a one off case?

VWs are not premium cars. The term, Volkswagen actually means the peoples' car. It is also a common sight in most countries, as a common car.

Only due to the unique tax structure in SG, hence the higher selling price.

 

From most car owners point of view, to pay close to 90k for a 1.6L NA golf hatch would seem expensive. Perhaps that is why the term premium could have come about.

 

Service has improved much since the old dealership days, most VW owners would attest to.

On a personal note, i feel that this issue is overhyped.

yes, "Volks" = Peoples' "Wagen" = Car.

 

Sometimes i just don't get it, why is it that people just cannot accept break downs, even new cars? Components can break down due to various reasons.

 

VW is one car I have not tried before and I hope to one day.

Not in sg for me. the premium for VW in sg is a bit hard for me to swallow.
