Just got a 2nd handed 2008 toyota allion. Inspection at STA is given grade B without major issues.

After driving for about 2 weeks, sometimes there is a small hissing sounds from the front when i pressed on the accelerator.

also, when I release the accelerator at low speed, the car gear seems to drop fast to lower gear and i feel the drag.

Sent to my mechanic and he didn't find anything wrong or drastic. Is it normal? or is there a workshop specialized in Allion where i can send my car for checks?

Hello, what you experiencing is normal. nothing wrong with your allion. whenever there is decrease or increase in speed, the allion is some how a bit slow to adapt the changes.

you don't feel that good when doing street driving or a lot of stop and go traffic in allion.

I been driving since 08 until now..you may need some time to adapt to it slow response.

at 110km/hr, the rpm is just slightly above 2.

FC abt 14km/litre

If heavy foot, then abt 11-12km/litre.

bought it for almost coming to 5 years and serving me very well.

quiet when stationary at traffic junctions.

I'm thinking of getting a 2nd 2008 Allion.

Would like to know if the maintenance cost is comparable to mainstream Altis/Sylphy cars and if spare parts are readily available?

Thanks.

Hi,

Finally got my Allion for 1 week now. Very good car with superb FC.

What is the the capacity of the CVT transmission oil? Sent for servicing and the guy used less than 4L of the CVT transmission oil.

Second question, do you guy notice small puddle of water at front bottom right of the engine compartment below the aircon compressor. Is it normal?

Thanks.

I can only answer your second question with regards to the water below the compressor. Its normal, its just like your house air con, you need a outlet for water to flow out.

Allion give one of the best FC. I rem from Spore to KL I drove in 3/4 and reach KL fuel gauge reach half tank. Truly remarkable. Used 7 years -- no problem whatever except the normal wear n tear

Not sure about the price. I usually go Hup Soon Lee at Yishun.

Called Ah Pu 6758 1512 for a quote. I change my brake front n back with him previously. quite reasonable price.

Hi everyone. I recently started to hear some knocking noise coming from the engine (esp the rhs) when trying to pick up speed. At speeds >60km/hr, the sound will not be audible.

My car is abt 5 yo and abt 150k km in mileage...

any good advice and reliable WS to recommend? Tks!!
