Maddriver 4th Gear October 11, 2007 Share October 11, 2007 I went to test drive the Lancer GT with Bro Linus,Imuya and my gf few weeks ago.. fully loaded..Linus test drove the auto .. when rev up to about 5000 rpm..I can hear loud roaring behind..Ask the lady SE and she told me is from exo and engine..I was like.. How can that be ??? My turn to test drive the manual .. Agreed with you that the gear shift is short and sharp .. I rev up to 5500 rpm on the 2nd gear ,..engine was screaming but car seem don't pull away.. as for the rest of the gears.. I just drive slowly... as for the 2.OM civic , i sat in Imuya's ride.. the rev is sweet.. not screaming type..engine is quieter.. Forget abt comparing the CTR.. your jaws will drop when it reaches 9000rpm..haha.. thanks to Jiayong for making my balls drop.... ↡ Advertisement

Solar Turbocharged October 11, 2007 Share October 11, 2007 imo, on looks department, lancer looks wierd.. front a bit like luohan fish, and its rear looks like its supposed to be its front. the tail lamps seems placed too high up also. personally, i'd prefer civic, if given the choice between these two.. Seanboi 1st Gear October 11, 2007 Share October 11, 2007 U can buy this month's issue of Motoring magazine. Inside got Civic 2.0 vs Lancer 2.0 For me I will go for Civic for its engine and driving experience + rear legroom with flat floor.
Magfocus 5th Gear October 11, 2007 Share October 11, 2007 Conversely, if its between the EVO X and the JDM CTR, which one would you go for?
Icetrap 2nd Gear October 11, 2007 Share October 11, 2007 Depends. If you looking for NA, the Civic JDM is one of the best best. However, if you are going for turbo, EVO will be a good buy. However, I always advise my friends, Never buy the first production lines. No Matter how good the car brand and R&D, there is bound to be slight issues! Mzrmazda3 6th Gear October 11, 2007 Share October 11, 2007 For me, i would go for the Civic 2L (M) If pocket allows, get the JDM CTR
Seanboi 1st Gear October 11, 2007 Share October 11, 2007 (edited) Depends. Have yet to see the EVO X. One is a TC other is a NA. I wouldnt mind the JDM CTR. Quite nice though. Btw heard EVO X will be equipped with a Clutchless MT using twin clutch system. Sth like VW's DSG. Edited October 11, 2007 by Seanboi
Incom 1st Gear October 11, 2007 Share October 11, 2007 The sound from exo is true, learnt about it from the female SE at ubi. In fact i find it unacceptable loud even 3K+ rpm.
Rickster 5th Gear October 11, 2007 Share October 11, 2007 I would get the civic. Coz apparently from what you had mentioned, you place alot on driving experience and "feel", thus civic would be a much more rewarding ride. Its just only 4K more... Quantum 5th Gear October 11, 2007 Share October 11, 2007 wah! just 2.5 year to change ride, you will lost a lot lah since you focus on 2.0 and manual, bo bian loh, Civic 2.0M is the best one in N/A JDM actually cpmpare Lancer2.0 with Civic2.0 is insult Lnacer 2.0M
Mr4tc Neutral Newbie October 11, 2007 Share October 11, 2007 The SE also told me the exhaust in Lancer EX is causing all the noise. I couldn't believe how noisy the Lancer's 2 liter engine was. At 2-4k rpm, I can say it is even noiser than Corolla Altis 1.6 engine. One plus point for Lancer EX is the paddle shift. There was no delay when I drop gear using the paddle shift.
