Hi,

Just upgraded to AD07s. Pretty good tyres compared to the previous set of Kumho Ecstas KU31 which I used to have. Grip is really good on dry weather. Have yet to try wet weather.

From 0 to 100km/h (about 6 plus secs), the tyres still grip tightly to the road. Cornering is also a lot more firm compared with KU31. My ride already using koni shocks, which are pretty hard. But, the AD07s further add on more firmness to cornerings.

Road noise didn't feel much different from ku31. Besides, there are a lot of other noises in my ride. Some r caused my the coils and other stuff. The drive is still reasonably comfy. However, dun expect very smooth ride.

AD07 also feels a lot lighter than my old Ku31.

Have not fully run in the tyres. On overall, the tyres are a good buy. Just bought recently. Great price for the tyres. Almost bought Hankook Rs2, but I guess the Rs2 would have better wet weather grip compared with the AD07.

I'm not an all weather cheongster too. At first, wanted to buty rs2. But, I drive pretty slow during wet weather. End up choosing AD07. Better wet weather grip would ve been more desirable. Then again, I drive real slow during rain. smile.gif

PS: Other worth considering tyres prob include the new Bridgestone Adrenaline and potenza s03. thumbsup.gif May be next yr try s03. sly.gif

Bro, glad that you are happy with your new rubbers [:)]

For dry, the AD07s really grips like a leech but for wet, gonna go slower cos have heard quite a few negative comments on it [nod][nod][nod]

Yeah, AD07 known not to perform well in wet esp semi wet. It's not just driving slower in the wet but in an emergency when you need the grip to get yourself out of trouble it may not be there.

R-S2 honestly have been a better bet as it grips better in wet, even better than RE01R [;)] . So far there isn't another tyre out there that offers this balance of all round grip at affordable price

From these test results, we can see that the AD07 is superior to R-S2 in terms of wet performance.

Test results by Car and Driver 2005 on wet skidpad

AD07s - 0.74Gs

T1R - 0.71Gs (See, the AD07s even outperform a wet tuned tyre)

R-S2 - 0.69Gs

Wet braking from 80kmh (AD07 outbrakes R-S2 by 8.1%.)

AD07 - 26.67m

R-S2 - 29.02m

T1R - 30.11m (Both dry tuned tyres outperform T1R?)

So I am wondering why there is so much talk about AD07 being poor in the wet? Its misleading isn't it? I am on the AD07s myself and there is certainly no doubt about its wet grip. After all, if it can outbrake a T1R in the wet . . . how bad can wet grip be?

frankly, i have been using for 6 months. i drive 140 to 180 km/hr on NS to malacca, but drive at most 100 km/hr in wet conditions, and so far, heng heng, the tyres have not failed me yet. some pple say in wet conditions "when you need it". i leave you to figure out when you need it.

personally tried both AD07 and T1R.

T1R wet is really bad.

AD07 wet is excellent.

only poor in drainage otherwise damp road is still solid.

I am using AD07 for 10k alrdy.... The tyres have poor response on damp roads... It will even skid during hard braking... Dry grip is excellent... Have no worries taking high speed cornering even on track days...

I was on AD07 215/45/R17 before and I must say it really is a very fun set of tyres.

[thumbsup][thumbsup]

All I can say is that enjoy your tyres but please be very very sensible under wet conditions. I found it out the hard way....... [smallcry][smallcry][smallcry]

May I ask why we should doubt Car and Driver Magazine credibility?

I sure can't vouch for their consistency of testing methology; but have the test results being repeatly proven otherwise by more credible publications? I mean if Car and Driver isn't to be trusted, then what is? Surely not Hypertune yeah. [laugh]

Would love to hear your opinions. [nod]

Like I said, I m a conservative driver. The tyres are for track and sunny days. [sly]

Even if I'm to use regular tyres, I still drive conservatively on wet weathers. Good tyres are important, so are good driving habits. [idea]

AD07 wet grip is rubbish, esp semi wet conditions. Be VERY ginger in the wet. I skidded on them but luckily nothing happenned to the car. I'm NEVER touching them again

To me its the driver controlling the car not the car controlling the driver.

If you ever buang in AD07 on wet. Please do not blame the tire.

Blame yourself.

You are saying nobody buang in RS2 or any other better tire before?

They suck too??
