Gz0707 4th Gear October 3, 2007 Share October 3, 2007 the dereg slowdown and coe biddings may finally be showing the effects of the long term loans kicking in. seems that as many as half of car buyers are 1st time and are borrowing max 10 yr loans. these buyers will find it very hard to change to a new car in say next 7-8 yrs? Have seen those who forcibly change to a new ride even as the old one was not done being paid, it ended up not pretty sight. i think the trade knows this, so i wonder what other tricks they have, besides getting buyers' current unfinished loan to be put on top of new car loan - eg the burnt Kia cerato guy who was asked to add his remaining 13k loan on top of the new car they were trying to sell him. tats juz crazy ... Surferguy1978 1st Gear October 4, 2007 Share October 4, 2007 ya lor... i went to showroom about a month ago and was toying with the idea of changing my 3yr car. then SE say no need to fork out a single cent and got money take back somemore... BUT monthly installment about $1k and a 10yrs loan!!! i sien half liao. then forget the idea of changing car and carrying on driving for another 2 to 3 yrs... i make the mistake of taking a 10yr loan cos i'm an excited, eager 1st time car buyer 3yr ago. although my car sometimes got some creaking sound, i still happy with it! haha ↡ Advertisement
