Mistake: Is it possible to remove bumper guards?

Hi bros,

 

made a mistake and sticked on bumper guards cos wife often kisses the wall at the front bumper corners.

 

question is: anyway to remove them and return my car to the original state?

 

they've been there for 3 weeks.

i hope it is not screwed on!! If it is just applied using double sided tape... use a hair dryer to heat it and use a toothpick to pick the corners and it will come off... be gentle...

 

after that, use yr polishing tools to clean up the residue left behind!

Spray concentrated soapy water on the stickers and let it soak for a while. Repeat steps if needed. It should peel off quite easily.

 

I know some "smart alec" will come in and say it'll destory the paintwork or wax. Can always re-apply wax, how difficult is that?

You can try using dental floss to remove it thats how i remove all my car tags :)

Man those are ugly

I can't understand why some brand new cars have this stuck on, disfigures the car immediately. Even a normal dent or scrape on the bumper looks better.

If there are glue stains after peeling off the guards, you can use either lighter fluid or WD40 to wipe them off. Remember to clean the area after that and do some light polishing if necessary.

I ever tried to use dental floss to remove my window visor (that was stucked using dunno what double-sided tape)

 

Ended up quite messy coz the dental floss only managed to cut away 1/2 of the double-sided tape.

 

I had to use soapy water to keep rubbing to remove the rest of the residue.

 

 

 

My car got really high with all the rubbings that day.

if you got the bottle of remover from tuff coat or kerosene, it will do the job quickly and without much residue.

 

no need floss, special techniques or style. Just pour the liquid behind the guards, wait about 1 min or so, you should be able to just take it out.
