Thefear Clutched October 1, 2007 Share October 1, 2007 Many brands to choose from. Be sure u pick a pair for leisure as there r diff types of skates for diff disciplines eg Slalom, recreation, aggressive. I used to do recreation but now into slalom n sliding. U can try K2, their skates very comfy, good for long distance recreation skating. Price range from $200 n above depending on design n wheel size/bearings etc... U want to buy skates go to Peninsula as there r many skate shops there. Or u can go to ECP too, there r a few specialized skate shops there too. Btw, Rollerblade is a brand, the correct term is Inline Skating
Mizarahi Clutched October 2, 2007 Share October 2, 2007 Some brands include k2, Salomon, Rocces, Rollerblade, Roller Derby. You can find shops at Queensway, Penisula and along East Coast Road (1 shop only). For leisure, I suggest 80mm wheel size and ABEC 5 for more control and workout. Green_carnation Clutched October 2, 2007 Share October 2, 2007 k2.. usually from 200+.. can go skateline at peninsula.. http://www.skateline.com.sg/
Galantspeedz Turbocharged October 2, 2007 Share October 2, 2007 i bought mine at Gallen Sports. Parkway Parade opp Giant. and can bargain abit. average price slightly less than $200. Brand i find dun need to be particular. i think the bearings is more important and that you are comfortable in the blades. bearings wise, u can try to spin the wheels and just note if it rotates smoothly. the more it rotates the smoother it is and faster you can go when blading. rem to get wrist and kness guards too. Karebu 1st Gear October 2, 2007 Share October 2, 2007 i am flatfooted. when i started off it hurts like hell at the site where the 'arch' should have been. i was using k2 then. now i'm using seba. i'm not sure if it's because i'm more experienced now or if it's a different 'in-shoe' (the inner lining covers the entire shoe) or perhaps because its a better fit. Karebu 1st Gear October 2, 2007 Share October 2, 2007 http://www.boazarad.com/what-are-ilq-bearings http://www.skatelog.com/bearings/abec.htm umm anyway you shouldn't break bones unless you have osteoporosis or something. but if you are going for speed / tricks you will almost definitely damage your wrists (pertaining to soft tissues/tendons etc). Silhoutte Clutched October 2, 2007 Share October 2, 2007 I use Rollerblade brand of In-Line skates. Was using the Bravoblade GLX (I enjoyed using it) for 8yrs till it broke. Now using Rollerblade's Bladerunner series. Cheap and good with ABEC-5 Bearings. I'd suggest a better pair of skates though cos I bought my new blades when I was on a tight budget. Get an In-Line skate that is a comfortable and snug fit so that you can balance better on them. Cheers. ↡ Advertisement
