Slowmo Clutched October 1, 2007 Share October 1, 2007 Very excited, must post this... after the very unfortunate incident when I met up with Bro MD that evening (bro, after I left, I had to throw away the shoes. ) I must say I am very impressed with this wax. The shine is unbelievable! Though I might be using it wrongly, anyone can advise why there are some 'streaks' left over even after I buff? It is still very shiny, but seems that I need to take a lot longer to buff. Will try to get pics of the result later though I think I suck at taking pics of car ↡ Advertisement
Maddriver 4th Gear October 1, 2007 Share October 1, 2007 Hey Bro,din know yr nick no chance to talk to you becos of tat poo.. haha.. hopefully tat brings you some 4D luck.. I know what streaks you are referring to.. Few things that may cause streaking. * alway ensure surface are clean before any wax or sealant. * Ensure surface are not hot when applying waxes or sealant. * uneven application may causes it due to our inconsistant hand pressure. Remedy to this.. * Dam applicator with water or QD before applicator, this could help you to spread out the wax easily. * You can spray a bit water on surface and use MF cloth to go over again.. Slowmo Clutched October 1, 2007 Author Share October 1, 2007 (edited) Haha, I never buy 4D leh... maybe later today go buy toto. I would need a new pair of shoes! Actually I did this... Last Sunday: - Wash (black magic, love the smell ) - Rinse - Clay - Rinse - QD + Clay (Meguires QD + softclay) - Rinse - Sealant/QD whole car Friday: - Wash - Rinse - Eagle 1 polish + wax: on bonnet & boot (end result quite shiny already, can see reflection) - Sealant/QD for rest of the car Sunday (yesterday): - Wash - Rinse - #845 on bonnet, roof, boot (wah, damn shiny lor can see more clearly! ) No idea why it streaked, but the car surface should be uber clean (by my standard la ) because on sunday, I still see water beading off the surfaces when I rinse the car. Though I was quite surprised that the wax once kenna fingers, quite hard to wash off maybe because it repels water and I was using water to wash it away Probably later I will see under sun light if it still has the problem. Bmwcar Neutral Newbie October 1, 2007 Share October 1, 2007 Ha Ha ! I have to agreed with you that once #845 kenna fingers, quite hard to wash off maybe because it repels water I have problem washing the applicator too Overall I am very satified with Collinite #845 (Best Value for Money Wax) For those who are reading, go grab a bottle and try it
Maddriver 4th Gear October 1, 2007 Share October 1, 2007 ... good luck on the toto tonite. not to worry, some of us have experience streaking from polish, waxes and sealant not only collinite.. You wash on Friday and wax on Sunday. You can try using a QD to clean the surface first before waxing. Remember dam applicator with a bit of water, apply THIN layer of wax.A 50 cents size of #845 can work on big panel but try to work on a small panel each time.Once you got the tricks, you are there.. Samster69 Clutched October 1, 2007 Share October 1, 2007 (edited) Using the paste double coat 476.For cleaning up surfaces after washing,i used Duragloss polish/cleaner before #105 and 476.I like this combo, find it removed oxidation and soils.Till now,no sight of streaking for me. Steelblue Neutral Newbie October 1, 2007 Share October 1, 2007 Dedicate one applicator just for collinite...wash just to keep it clean of dirt if present. If streaking ,use 2nd clean mf towel to buff off

Duragloss Marine & RV Quik Detailer is designed to remove surface contaminants, restore gloss and slickness and leaves a protective barrier that bonds with durable waxes and sealants to enhance shine and durability. The secret to easy maintenance and removal of these contaminants is quick detailing. Quick detailing describes a process where you clean and restore shine in just a few minutes. Duragloss Marine & RV Detail Spray #521 is a high lubricity quick detailer that loosens contamination on the surface, including stubborn algae, so it wipes away effortlessly and without scratching.
