So_nice 6th Gear November 24, 2007 Share November 24, 2007 btw bro, a small tip for u regarding the yellowing of headlamp cover.. use basso(spelling?). those for metal polishing. put abit on a cloth and slowly polish and lastly use some wax to polish ur headlamp covers. it helps. or buy plastic polish, but i havent been able to find any though. =(

Rc1q2w3e4r Neutral Newbie November 26, 2007 Share November 26, 2007 Sorry got to ask this here. Not enuff postings to start new thread. Anyone knows of a good combi (Economy)for shocks and springs? I guess mine is stock. Shocks are damping well but felt the springs too soft. Furthermore the top of the front shock mount has cracked and I guess got to change the entire front shocks. Where to get spring tensioners? Or is it called that? Some telfon thingy to insert into the springs to firm it up? Thanks in advance. Cheers
Kyojin 1st Gear November 26, 2007 Share November 26, 2007 if you think the springs are too soft/hard, i would suggest getting a new set. it's much better than trying to modify (cut or tension etc). also, changing the shocks does not come with the top hats/mount. u need to buy them as an extra part. there's no such thing as a "good" combi. coz everybody likes it different. Rc1q2w3e4r Neutral Newbie December 3, 2007 Share December 3, 2007 Got to ask another question here due to insufficient post to start new thread. Rims - Went to pxx xxxg but quite disappointed as I found out that they do not carry a lot of 14 inches rims. Only 1 model in fact. 15 inches - Lots of design to choose from. Now the query. I know that we'll loose some torque and pickup and fuel economy by going 15 inches. But pxx xxxg recommended using a lower profile tyre. Go from 185/60/R14 to 195/45/R15. This would maintain the same rolling circumference, so does it means that torque and pickup will not be affected? Really try not to go 15 inches but 14s are really hard to come by. Anyone knows any shops that carry a good stock of 14s? Thanks in advance.
Kyojin 1st Gear December 3, 2007 Share December 3, 2007 i think it's: 185/60-14 (stock) 195/50-15 (most common) whoever told you 195/45-15 should be shot! that's more than 3% diff in overall diameter!! pickup and torque will be affected when you up/down size. upsizing to 15" will make your acceleration slower, hence poorer FC. due to aftermarket demands, 14" wheels are harder to come by (like 52mm gauges), but tyres are not a problem. in fact, the price difference for tyres are quite huge for every 1". so you will thank yourself when you need to replace them! really depends on what you are after. if you don't mind losing a bit of FC and performance for looks, then go for 15". modding is about best compromise, especially for our cars. Mclaren_ Neutral Newbie December 4, 2007 Share December 4, 2007 i can vouch for the limited choices for 14s.. i was also looking for 14s so went to "famous shop" on last sunday to check out their range of 14s...ended up e uncle oni showed me 1 design also visited another rims shop @ amk autopoint..cant remember e shop's name but it has got 2 shops within walking distance on the 1st level..e boss managed to show me 2 designs & trade-in price was attractive as well but they are nt the design/color i wanted i guess 15s got more choices but i'm sticking to my 14s for fc's sake ↡ Advertisement
