Re: LGT

Hi all,

After consider the Epica, Civic, Euro-R, Camry, Cefiro, I thought I have decided on going for the Euro-R. Was shopping around the last 2 weeks for a reliable PI that gives me the best quote.

However today I backside itchy went to MI to look see look see. Test drove the LGT tuned by STI and the WRX. All I can say... I'm like 90% going for the LGT.

Why? It doesn't look as loud and aggressive as the WRX. The front scoop doesn't seem as obvious as the WRX, pretty well styled I think - so I guess pretty parent friendly. I'm most impressed by the interior - pretty roomy and sophisticated. The overall look still gives an executive look, rather than a boy racer look.

Performance is the clincher. The previous Legacy I test drove was never close! The way this sleeping monster picks up and takes corners is EXCELLENT! It is quiet and docile when driven normally (below 2K RPM), but revs very easily and aggressively when required to. I was told by the SE that the tuned by STI LGT has about 270 horses and 6+s of 0-100! That's pretty much the Type R performance i'm looking at, but with a much more mellow look. The only grouses I had is this doesn't come in manual to allow me to take the corners hard and fast and it doesn't come with HID to blind hoggers. I'm really keen to splash my dough on this car and bring it to Highway 3 for some serious whacking!

As of now, I'm so going to say, screw the maintenance cost (of a TC car), screw the road tax and insurance, you only live life once, and go for it.

Now some questions:

1. What else can I squeeze the SE for?

2. What more modifications can I do?

3. If I remove the bonnet (with scoop) and replace with one without, will it affect the turbo?

Cheers.

LGT....congrats on the good car [thumbsup] . Sad to say and agreed with you, no manual for LGT [mad] . That's what swayed me to get the civics...

1. What else can I squeeze the SE for?

Ans:SE cash rebate?

2. What more modifications can I do?

Ans:Do you or the LGT need one? Enjoy in stock condition first...

3. If I remove the bonnet (with scoop) and replace with one without, will it affect the turbo?

Ans:Ricers are eager to put bonnet with scoop yet you want to remove... Leave it as it is. It's there for a reason best known to you...

Hi there,

I liked the Civics too, especially the JDM Type R. But somehow in terms of performance, ride comfort, gadgets and bang for buck, I feel that the LGT seems to give me more.

1. Based on experience, how much more cash rebate do you think the SE can give me? What other types of freebies should I ask for?

2. Maybe I need a right leg modification. Hahaha....

3. I just am the sort who prefers to have my things understated on the outside but an animal on the inside.

Cheers.

the scoop allows air to goes in to cool down the turbo from the top mount intercooler(TMIC).

definitely not advisable to change to one without scoop unlss you change to front mount intercooler(FMIC) normally found in Evo.

Nope, at least MI's one is not. I've seen the LGT tuned by STi. I think it came with extra bodykit like v-lip and rear spoiler but dunno what else physically is different. Dunno also whether more power/torque than the regular LGT or not.

I dunno... It is up to individual... as it is still warranty by MI. So far, the STi Muffler is the only exhuast legally approved by LTA for 2.5 LGT.

Can't compare the LGT to WRX. WRX is meant to be a sports car, not luxury car. LGT on the other hand is geared towards luxury with some speed added. 8)

The LGT does comes with HID. It even has a washer for the headlights. Why this is necessary is "i dun know".
