Shull Turbocharged January 7, 2009 Share January 7, 2009 I gave up years ago as well due to fish dieing off quite often. I was told it was because fish are caught by releasing poison into the water to catch the fish and it takes a couple of weeks for the poison to kill off the fish by which time they have been sold on. I must say I found it very calming to watch the fish and better than the TV. Might take it up again when move house. i've had no problems with fishes dieing from the very first day i started my planted tank.. even now, if i do drastic water change(>50%) at most my fish will feel stressed but will return to normal after a couple of hours.. it lies in having a healthy water ecosystem for fish and plants alike..
