AW's strength lies in his ability to spot raw talent and polish them into GEMs.

Just look at how many young players flourished under his nurture.

Fabregas gotta be his latest masterpiece...

But alas... Fowler was a naughty boy.

If he kept his discipline and if there no SPICE BOYS in the mid 90s, Liverpool would have grow stronger.

At one point, Fowler was wanted by almost every top club in England, including Arsenal.

ya he can be quite di siao soemtimes..tease Le Saux and the sniffing gesture

Even SAF also wanted to buy him a few times and admirer of him...very seldom SAF wan target Pool players...to me,i felt he v suay of his injuries problem like Redknapp,if not both can have superstar statues.BTW Redknapp is being widely recognise as Gascognise successor...but injury jinx when played for England.Lastly both career ended by Houllier [shakehead]

arsene always only let 1 or 2 players go at a time. so the core will always be there.

as for keeping cesc. i will say another 3yrs and RM will come knocking again. in fact every year RM will knock on Cesc's door.... [laugh] lets hope cesc dun do a anelka

i think probably not... cos cesc is from barca youth academy, so he shd be a barca lifelong fan... [gossip]

Neutral Newbie

Also, he is a master in spotting the best position for players, eg:

TH - from winger to striker

Toure - from attacking midfielder to Central Defender

Eboue - trying him out as winger before he was injured (from right back)

Flamini - from central midfielder to left back (2 seasons ago when Cole was injured)

Anymore?

I think TH started as a striker, right?

Then AW played him as a winger in his early days because he felt this will build up his game.

I can see Benitez doing the same thing with Babel, as he is quite similar to the young TH. Unfortunately, I have yet to see Babel do exceptionally well...
