Arsenal FC : They Are Better Without Thierry Henry

[thumbsup][thumbsup] Kudo to Arsenal FC for their performance so far. Their young squad have performance better than expected.

It seem like selling TH to Baca is Arsenal best option. In the past, all long balls are pass to TH and hoping for him to do the wonders. Now, their playing are wider with more options from their strikers as anyone in the team inclusive of midfielders can score. This is what we fans would like to see an attacking & non stop play. With this kind of open play, it is the most worrying for opposition teams.

Too used to see TH holding the ball and try to dribble to the box. The virus had seen sold to Baca and their opening 4 matches, 2 wins and 2 draws..... [sweatdrop][sweatdrop]. Don't worry Frank Rijkaard, more draws to comes if TH keep holding on to the ball... [laugh][laugh][laugh]

Well i do agree with u..during Henry time

-If Thierry henry can't perform or start sulking, most prob we would lose or draw.

-The whole team was reliant on TH,its like passing the ball to him & all relac 1 corner drink kopi.wait for him to score.

-He is getting to big headed..

-Everyone scared like to outperform him..

With him gone...so much better...henry who??

Barca got so many big time players......Good players but can they play together as a team effectively? Only time will tell.

I thought Sevilla is a good team though. Not many star players but as a team, they look formidable.

I agree Arsenal is better without Thierry Henry.

On the other hand, I'm glad Arsenal finally got rid of Henry. He always score against Liverpool and make our defenders look clumsy. [laugh]

Just like how robbie fowler used to make our arsenal defenders look amatuer too.

though i support arsenal, somehow i still feel robbie fowler is one of the best or even the best finisher. was particularly impressed with a shot from a narrow angle to the top of the net against schmechiel.... 1st time i see schemichel never moved at all

I support Arsenal since the days of John Lukic, Niall Quinn, Alan Smith etc. What I can say is only "Arsene knows". He is the all time best signing for the club, second will be Dennis Bergkamp, the two of them enable Arsenal to play stylish football.

As for Henry, he enabled the club to move into the finals of the Champion League and that's probably the best he can take us.

Wenger has, in the past, sold players whom others thought are at their prime, but as always, these players (Paul Merson, Anders Limpar, Anelka, Ray Parlour, Marc Overmars, Emmanuel Petit, Viera, Henry, Cole, Campbell etc) did not do as well in other clubs as they have done with Arsenal. Best of all, he always have a equal, if not better, replacement on hand (Fabregas, van Persie, Clichy, Eboue, Helb, Rosicky). So far, the only player he had failed to replace adequately is David Seaman.

Niall Quinn played for arsenal? i din know that....

but i know he replaced ian wright with anelka....

and i tot anders limpar and stefan schwarz was not his time but george graham or bruce rioch

I rem his 1st signing was dennis bergkamp, when he wasnt officially the manager of arsenal yet. well... luckily he came in cuz arsenal was fighting relgation with bruce rioch

and i rem alan smith score the only goal in the cup winners cup against parma. my 1st ever soccer bet [laugh]

it was during rioch time. at that time wenger wasn't officially arsenal's manager. He was still with Nagoya.... but he was already buying behind the scenes...

With rioch, arsenal was fighting relegation, and i dun think he has the clout to bring or convince bergkamp to join us.... it was a coup at that time which i believe was brought about by wenger......

Well this is something new to me. AW is good in spotting raw talent and bringing out the best in some player. Look at those he unearth : Toure, Fabregas, Anelka etc......

lets see, bergkamp and henry was good but rotting in italian league. he made them stars.

overmars was known to be fast but he made him a better player.

and unknowns (at least to me) that went on be stars: petit, veira, pires, anelka, toure, cesc, ashley cole, sagna, etc etc

flops: stepnanovs, jeffers, cygan, giovanni van bronckhost (injuries)

neutral: wiltord, grimandi

and there is 1 thing better than noticing raw talent, he sell all his top players once he realise they are on the decline.

but i still wish he will spend to get buffon or casillas, after all the arsenal chairman says he has a 70m pound transfer budget now [laugh] and 1 more defender

He seem to be able to foresee the star decline.

Buffon n casillas is good but dun think they will come arsenal. Ya they realli need another decent centre half. But i think they also need cover for striker position.

i agree we need another striker. up till now i still think adebayor just can't cut it. and eduardo has not really lit up the stage. hopefully he will settle in soon.

But luckliy this season, the midefielders are chipping in with goals. justt he the man Us of 90s where everyone chip in with goals instead of just 1 top scorer.

I would say casilla will be stuck at RM his whole life but buffon there is still a small chance if juventus does not qualify for the UCL this season.... and with loads of money... [laugh] anything can happen.

as for centre half, i am getting more and more disappointed with sendoros... and gallas seem to be injuried too often and has not really performed at all.

I forsee arsenal to be top of the table till at least mid season. And by then, we shall see if they can cope with the fixtures coming hard and fast especially with all the cups and UCL too..... the squad is still too thin at the moment

arsene always only let 1 or 2 players go at a time. so the core will always be there.

as for keeping cesc. i will say another 3yrs and RM will come knocking again. in fact every year RM will knock on Cesc's door.... [laugh] lets hope cesc dun do a anelka
