Abba Neutral Newbie September 22, 2007 Share September 22, 2007 Mcclaren have been training Ham for quite a while before his entry into F1 this season. It is no surprise that Ham is doing so well with all the training and stats/info (on Alonso's timing) made available to him. Equip with his talent, there is no doubt Ham will be F1's star for the future. I loved to see a rookie win in his debut season. However IMO, Alonso is definitely the better driver. Ferrari and Schmi were dominating F1 till rules were changed to balance the championship. Who would've thought Renault to come out tops? Give Ham a renault.. or even Kimi, would they fare better? 2 championship seasons in a Renault is no fluke result. The only reason why Ham is infront of Alonso in the Driver's championship is because he has an advantage over Alonso (race timing info). There is more to learn from the champion than the rookie himself. I love to see Alonso change team next season and kick the ass out of Mcclaren & Ferrari. Who needs spy info on Ferraris or Mecedes when all you need is a Renault and a certain Alonso... Hami has been with the team for 10 yrs since 12, it's still an English in an English team Alonso & Hami side by side just before Eau Rouge; Alonso committed and won the race from Hami in that corner when he went ahead. Alonso is still the better driver in McLaren car, very clear since no sharing of telemetry; Hami is loss in setting up his car so much for up & coming rookie
Abba Neutral Newbie September 22, 2007 Share September 22, 2007 sure its not an illegal move. But wld u force your team mate off the track even if there was enuff space for both cars on the turn? Pure racing, it if was illegal, Alonso would have benefitted a drive thru pentaly.
Kangz 3rd Gear September 22, 2007 Share September 22, 2007 No doubt Lewis has benefited one way or another from the sharing of data and perhaps even copying Alonso's setup. But then, does the sharing of data automatically make one a championship leading driver? And what's more, leading the championship over a double world champion? Doubt it mate. If the sharing of data really helps Lewis, hey how come David Coulthard never won the championship when Mika Hakkinen is in the team? What I know is that not all F1 drivers can find a perfect setup for their cars race after race. Yes even Alonso, Schumi and Hakkinen. To attribute the achievements of Lewis to using information from Alonso is nothing short of a traversty. And afterall, what are team mates for in a team?? And can you be sure that for those races Alonso won, he did not make use of Hamilton's data?
Spurman Supercharged September 22, 2007 Share September 22, 2007 Even Lewis Hamilton also ass-hole one la, bith himself n Alsonso r whiners, except that Alonso whines louder...
Kangz 3rd Gear September 22, 2007 Share September 22, 2007 To be fair to Alonso, he may or may not be the loudest whiner. Just that when a world champion speaks, the press affords higher coverage. When people see his names appearing a lot more than his team mates in news report, it gives us the illusion that he's the biggest whiner.
S__k Neutral Newbie September 27, 2007 Share September 27, 2007 The F1 season is coming to an end and its really interesting to see how the driver's championship shapes up. With Alonso closing in slowly, the championship fate is still in LH's hands. As I mention earlier, I would love to see a rookie win in his debut season. And yes, I agree Alonso is a whinner too. ↡ Advertisement
