Vincentacy Neutral Newbie September 19, 2007 Author Share September 19, 2007 (edited) Ya Hiphiphoray, I think/hope they done a good job. Then again, that is to be finalized upon collection tomorrow. From the past 10 days, think they have done more than what the little $1,400 price tag. The first day after I drove my car down, I took a bus (I think is 130) just outside the shop to the main road along Jalan Kayu. Then took a cab to work. Subsequence visits, I was on my bike. Yes, they will polish up the car. However, I will still bring my car to the Fiat showroom polish to do the sealant. I seached and found their address online. Vincentacy Neutral Newbie September 19, 2007 Author Share September 19, 2007 Thank you for reading Casey, I will post some pictures on Friday. I assume, metallic would be additional $300 like pearl white on top of the $1,100 if changing color (for small cars). There will be a total layer of 3 for metallic or pearl white instead of the 2 layer for normal color. Ya, pearl white is something like metallic white. Alveron2001 Neutral Newbie September 19, 2007 Share September 19, 2007 Sounds like at great deal. Last time I checked, for different colour was quoted $1800-2000. $800 for exact same shade of colour. I was interested to change from a light blue to a deep midnight blue colour. But the main thing that worried me was knowing that they need to dismantle all parts that can be taken apart. (Interior door panels, plastic panels, bumper, side guards... etc..) What worried me was those plastic clips for the panels might get broken during dismantling. Later when everything is re-assembled, car will look beautiful but will have loose wobbly panels, side door rubber strips..etc.. Worse will be rattles during driving, and unable to discover from where. Look forward to hearing more about your experience. If good, please PM me your contact... still very tempted to try. Vincentacy Neutral Newbie September 19, 2007 Author Share September 19, 2007 Hi Alveron2001, I was quoted $2,500 from a shop that does Alfa's car, but have to queue up. I think this one should be just as good but... if this Lek Chuan shop is good and affordable, why not. I was worried about the losse parts and rattling sounds too. I even told Ming Yang that, if there is any clip the break during dismantling and installation, please please tell me and I will buy them. Cos it's common for such clips to give way. So far, he broke a few clips but not those holding bumpers/door protectors. He broke clips holding the carpet in place, I told him it's okay and I will replace. If you are worried about these clip issues, what you can do is.. get a full set of new clips and get him to replace anyway, that, the rattling sound will not happen. That was what I should have done. Pisces69 6th Gear September 19, 2007 Share September 19, 2007 What u say is a real fear. Another is the parts removed from the engine bay. If they r not expertly put back, there cud b many problems with leaks & breakdowns. This is especially for older cars which r more delicate to these sort of things. That's 1 reason why I only had my exterior painted cos mine is an old car.
