Hi......

went to the workshop to check whether basic modification will affect the validity of the warranty...........The answer was "Its depend on case by case basis"......There is no fast rules to say that changing K&N filter will void your warranty......the technical officer told me that if changing spark plugs should be ok, however, if it is not install properly or not done correctly, theu may need to take a look at the warranty again......

My opinion is to stay simple til the warranty expires before start to do basic mod......Moreover, new car performance tends to be better at the begining stage...So just sit back and relax first lorrrr

What if during my first 3 'free servicing', I ask them to install cai, groundings and K&N filter for me... would that void the warrenty?

Just clarify with your question first.

You mentioned "ask them to install CAI, etc" Who is THEM????

Honestly, those basic mod will not harm your car. It will enhance the performance and improve the fuel consumption. Technical speaking, those stuffs should not void the warranty. Practical speaking, KOMOCO technical advisors can tell u all kind of stories not to do any mods at all. They will give a general rule of thumb that BASIC MOD MAY VOID the WARRANTY. However, this rule is not applicable if Matrix got prob that does not relates to the above mod at all. Well, it depend on case by case basis if warranty void. Conclusion, its a very unclear area. To support the above, lets say your Matrix's fog lamp not working. The warranty will be still valid as the above mod does not has any effect on the fog lamp.....Hence, Komoco should ensure that the fog lamp is fix.

For the above mod you mentioned, grounding should be the highest risk because any errors or negligence could lead to short-circuit........Hence, DIY if u know the fundamental knowledge of groundings with some guidance provided by experts around here.

Hope it help!!
