Beaware of Century Square parking rate !!!

dear all ,

 

Just to remind & warn all forumers about my inccident .

 

On 15 sept at 1455 hrs I parked my car in Century Square carpark which is offer per minute charge and after 1501 hrs will be charge at SGD 2.10 flat rate on weekend and PH . It was very shock to me when I driving off at 2055 hrs as my parking fee amounted at SGD 17.00+ !!!!

After I clarify with Metro Parking ( Mall Tenant ) the SGD 2.10 flat rate only apply for those drive in after 1501 hrs and before 1501 hrs will charge all the way at per minute basic ????? This very misleading for us and feel that they try to play monkey game !! The Metro carpark staff even can tell me that how come I never read the terms & conditions displayed at barrier ?? How can expect us to stop and wide down the window to read every single word before enter to carpark ??

That doesn't sound right! Most (if not all) carparks will just charge up to the 'per entry' timing and stop there, and add in the per entry charge.

Next time before enter the carpark I must spend at least 5 - 10 minutes at the barrier to read their TERMS & CONDITIONS before driving in !! Especially those manage by METRO PARKING !!

KNN, Now I know why we have to Q so long entering the carpark. Everyone takes 5 ~ 10 mins, by the time kenna I turn, half an hour gone.

But what I don't understand is how is the calculation done?

Before 1700hrs, you said it is per minute right? How much per minute?

After 1700hrs, you said is $2.10 right? So from 1700hrs to the time you leave at 2055hrs should be counted as $2.10 right? And from 1455hrs to 1700hrs should be per min charge right? So cannot be charging you $17 wor...must complain to case...

With effect from 1 September 2007:

 

1st hr - $0.011 per min

 

2nd hr - $0.022 per min

 

3rd hr onwards - $0.044 per min

 

Mondy to Friday (1701hrs to 0300hrs)

 

$1.60 per entry

 

Saturday, Sunday & Public Holiday (1501hrs to 0300hrs)

 

$2.10 per entry

Like that there will be long jam at entrance to CP just before 5pm. Eg. Everyone who arrive 4:50pm will just wait 10mins at CP entrance until 5pm , then enter. This is the stupidest CP charging I have seen.

there is a contract law provision that if the notice is placed just at the barrier, the driver (you) can seek to null and void whatever t&c that is writtent here, because it would not be reasonable to abide by the t&c since you ahve already reached the gantry and are unable to reverse out if you won't want to park there.

 

go to small time lawyer lor...claim back the money plus legal fees... if not, go to small claims tribunal.

Luckily I stopped parking there ever since I put on a bodykit because the slope to B3 is too steep!
