eg SOHC is having a bhp of 130, EK SOHC is having bhp of 115 and ES is having a bhp of 110 (correct me if i'm wrong). smile.gif there is b16a orginal engine and b16b(type R mostly used for Track. civic ek9). B18 is also mostly good for track. engine from DC2 Integra. both b16b and b18 is having a bhp of 200 and above good to whack the vtec. think if iam not wrong can take on a stock wrx lipsrsealed.gif . B20 is good for normal driving and when the Vtec kick in its fierce and the sound of vtec is very sweet to hear. tho i am using a B20 in my EG. i seldom on my vtec only once in a while. i did my engine in AMK. cool.gif .

B16B is 185bhp,not more than 200bhp.

B20 does not comes with Vtec originally.

if you want to play with the transmission, manual is still the best.

nothing beats it.

Of course lah, save fuel somemore. For people like me, who has no choice for some reasons but to stick to an auto gearbox (wife can't handle manual), at least Honda has provided an alternative mah.

seems so fun.

but some vtec kick in early some alter.

but why some v-tec got sound but car move slow?

auto if do that gear box will tear right? wear

1. Auto gearbox are unlike those of yesterday. I don't know about the reliability of other made but the use of up and downshifting of gear is mentioned in the Honda owner manual.

2. It was mentioned in the owner manual that D auto mode is used for normal driving. D3 can be used to keep transmission from cycling between 3rd and 4th gear in stop and go driving. For faster acceleration when in D3 or D auto-mode, you can get transmission to automatically downshift by pushing the accelerator pedal to the floor. The transmission will shift down 1 or 2 gears, depending on your speed. Use D2 when starting out on a slippery surface to reduce wheelspin. Not much mention on D1 but is does mention that by upshifting and downshifting through D1, D2, D3 and the 4th, you can operate this transmission much like a manual transmission without a clutch pedal.

3. Most of the time, D or auto mode is used. Only when the need of power is required, downshifting can be used in Honda auto gearbox.

4. To monitor the on and off state of VTEC more accurately, Honda fans usually install at least a VTEC controller.

Regards,i have heard of vtec controller. can u tell me more about it. how dose it operate function.!!!

sorry i love v-tec cars but dont drive a v-tec.

Whatever it is, take care of your own wallet first if not your self esteem won't last too long whether one is in VTEC or TURBO.
