People driving Auto will know Ur car on a flat road will roll forward even without stepping on the accelerator.

Other than the amount of fuel needed to keep the engine running, does auto-rolling consume any fuel?

should be correct [;)]

if i'm not wrong, nowadays engine is able to cut off fuel injection while without stepping on the accelerator, even if engine rev is still quite high [:p]

can you ask all the related question in one thread?

Yes, rolling, for auto cars could consume fuel coz the car is heavy and you think there's no fuel (energy) going to the engine and it will move? there's no free lunch.

Even if you off engine, hand/foot brake off and get off to push, you also wash energy.

So what is next? [:p]

Neutral Newbie

best to set to neutral. less load on engine, less fuel burning. install a blitz meter, you will see the fuel injection rate to confirm for sure.

Maybe.. but definitely not cutting off fuel injection right? Won't the engine stall when the the fuel is being cut off?

and risk wearing out the transmission? There are so many advises in the forum not to put to neutral (for auto trans) while you car is still rolling..

Drive with a lighter foot in city is more practical.

No, the auto rolling does not consume any fuel.

The car auto roll forward is due to the gravity

force of our planet, Earth.

Sometimes, the auto rolling maybe due to Magneto.
