Chickenfarm Turbocharged September 3, 2007 Share September 3, 2007 Think its scientific name is artemia. It is a kind of salt water brine shrimp found in the deserts of China and some parts of America. Astute business pple gave it a catchy name 'sea monkey' to mark up the price. Marine fish culturists in local farms uses these as fresh fish feeds for their fingerlinks aka new born fish (less than 3 months) before moving into dry feeds ↡ Advertisement

Beei 1st Gear September 3, 2007 Share September 3, 2007 should be easy to keep.. at least for me.. feed yeast, hard boiled egg yolk or wheat flour.. An egg yolk can last a year if din go bad.. Also important thing is to bubble air to let the water move in circulation for oxygen.. better put near the window for algae to grow which is their natural food source.. but dun put direct sunlight else water become too hot.. i seldom let them live for more than 2 weeks before i feed my fish with them.. so not sure of their life span.. but a great food for baby fish as they are high in unsaturated fats content.. their baby are very small.. so have to watch out when they are hatched..can feed baby fish with them at this stage else they become too big for baby fish to eat
