Hi ppl... Has anyone here encountered tis prob? I heard its because of the Windows XP Service Pack 2 bug... Anyone noes how to remedy tis prob?

Im on the verge of throwing my Laptop out of the window cause I hav tried varies methods and ways but to no avail... [crazy]

It happened to me sometimes too, but its bcos of my wireless network,

i dun think its the windows XP SP2 bug...

 

i will usually restart my laptop, and switch off & on my modem n router etc...

tried pinging the connection... and also tried renewing but still cant.. ip address now is the 169.***** I forgot wat but how do i assign a static ip address... my other com is werking fine with e netwerk but not my laptop...

i've neber used static IP. but u click Tool in the IE Menu and select Internet Option

Actually you should follow the instruction fr ur IP.

are u using a router or modem? try restart the router or modem

 

i think it is nothing to do with the windows OS. if not, can also try to reboot the laptop.

bro,network card no problem.maybe just need to update the card.Maybe your wire use is wrong,com to router need crossover wire,not straight cable.unless your router has a smart port,if not do check the cable.maybe your DNS setting also,do set to default that which obtain automatically.If all this cannot,remove your firewall setting.

169.*.*.* , if this problem is in your office, more likely that it is setup with static IP instead.

Get your company IT tech to do, they probably might monitor each individual IP's.

guarateed plus chopped, it's not the bug... either prob wif ur connection or prob wif ur own network card... try pinging 127.0.0.1 to c whether ur own network card is working or not... if it replies, meaning ur connection got some issues...

Are you using Singtel BB?

Yup using singtel bb with the 2wire 2700HG modem... Tried calling singtel like 4 times.. 4 diff ppl tried to help me.. all cannot help.. push blame to moden fault.. Sianz... [mad]
