The promotion should end by 3 Sep.

Is it worth it? Used to sell at $9.90 last year and was wipe-out from the shelves last year.

Now 4 quarts is already $51.60.

AMSOIL is $15 per quart (buy 12 bottles) is $60 for 4 quarts. maybe better?

Well, the consumer makes the final decision.

The Mobil 1 0W-40 meets the current specifications of all VAG engines available locally. The Amsoil 5W-40 Synthetic European Car Fomula misses out on the VW 503.01 specification.

From the analysis of the typical properties of the Mobil 1 0W-40 and Amsoil 5W-40 obtained online, I would say the specifications are quite similar, in my capacity as a non oil-guru. In certain parameters, the Amsoil 5W-40 pales in comparison to the Mobil 1 0W-40 e.g. flash point, pour point, viscosity index.

Why pay more for a similarly specified product without the ability to utilise its purported long oil drain interval under our local driving conditions?

lol.. asian cars not high tech.. no need special formulations.

hmm http://www.toyota.com/owners/web/pages/parts-service/parts?categoryId=32052&partNo=part9

i see a fully syn 0w-20 there.

I havent seen a Toyota fully syn motor oil before. Only saw the mineral versions being sold in Singapore.

Lexus 5w40 have though. Very cheap but I doubt Borneo uses it to service Lexus. From what I heard they using Castrol.

Which castrol spt? is it edge 5w-40?

I'm using gold mobile 1, 5w30 for my camry & my milage is 160k.

Good pick up & don't need heavy foot to get the car chiong.

I see, thought 5w-30 oil is thin..u tried 0w-40 before?

Maybe I'll try the lexus oil next time.

Yup I agree. The Castrol 5w40 is thick and creamy. 0w-40 is good as well. Castrol is slightly quieter. Disclaimer: never used it on Toyota before. Ran it on Optra which requires w40 oil.
