Falken Ziex522 = Firenza St-08?

Is this made in Indonesia tire good?

Can't seems to find any review in the net. Only Local Stamford tyre website is having some info on sizes, no details on driving review.

 

Is it exactly the same as Firenza ST-08? Thread pattern looks the same, but how bout the compound?

 

Anyone care to shed more light?

the falken 522 resembles the Firenza ST-03 , the Sumo Firenza ST-08 is much better

The ST08 is made in China.

 

No big time magazine review coz it is new and MIC .. many people here wouldn't even consider it just because of country of origin.

I try it mainly due to seeing the wrx review + I got them at a fantastic price.

 

My opinion:

 

thread pattern like ST115 - cut thru water very well ... tested in last few heavy rain. (similar to 451 but comparing different profile 225 vs 215)

handling - good enuf for daily drive.

dry braking - good enuf for daily drive

wet braking - abs kick in a little more readily than when I was on fk451 ... some say this is a sign of bad wet traction. I try to keep a longer following distance when raining.

side wall - soft, relatively comfy (compared to FK451)

rim protection - outstanding ... got to see to believe 215 on 7J rims

threadwear - very good ... like new even after 5000+km. (ok only time will tell)

noise - so so, has that humming sound common to most V-thread design.

 

 

I pump 250 all round on a Altezza Auto.

but like they say, thread design is only one thing, rubber compound and internal construction also very important also.

 

having said that, the falken lower end series and firenza series of products looks suspiciously similar.

i m on ST03 195/55/15...very very noisy

now about 15,000km on them alr...

seriously will not consider them again...
