Echelon 3rd Gear August 25, 2007 Share August 25, 2007 When I pumped petrol last night I was suprised that on the data matrix shows that I have 640 km worth of petrol? How dose this work out? Sometimes it is 620 km and once 580km? Do the onboard compture calculate this base on your usage or is this a true representation of how much I can use? confused? ↡ Advertisement
Tiewsh Neutral Newbie August 25, 2007 Share August 25, 2007 The last 50km of driving condition/fuel consumption is used to calculate the range. You will notice if you drive more economically from now on, the display figure may increase from 620 --> 630 --> 640 and so on. From the readout, you may have drive quite fast on average, or you may have chipped. Mine usually shown the range more than 700km.
Limlien Clutched August 25, 2007 Share August 25, 2007 Mostly when i hit the last quarter of the tank my fuel km is at 420-440km Till yellow light i can get abt 500-520, Wats yours?
Echelon 3rd Gear August 25, 2007 Author Share August 25, 2007 Yes I have update my firmware, maybe that is why. But I am quite soft on the pedal,I love to cruise more than hard driving. As I do not drive much on tiptronic, but I noticed if I do, I use up more petrol? Anyone face the same thing? So what you saying is that based on our driving pattern it calculates how much distance you can cover, that is wickedly awesome.
Tiewsh Neutral Newbie August 25, 2007 Share August 25, 2007 If I press hard frequently, I will get about 500km. But usually i cruise with light foot with the range of 700km++[full tank]. It may be due to my driving behavior-slow and steady. I tend to drive at constant speed using highest gear as soon as possible, and try to stop/pick up slowly. Also our Superb tiptronic gearbox has electronically control function - dynamic shift program. If you adopt moderate driving style, gear will tend to shift up asap and shift down alap. With Rapid movement on the pedal, will cause the gear to shift to sporty driving mode. Thus, if you tend to change speed or press the pedal rapidly, FC will be at the high side. Tiewsh Neutral Newbie August 25, 2007 Share August 25, 2007 I suppose the trip computer will calculate the actual fuel consumption at fixed interval, and then add up all the data for the last 50km and get the average consumption figure in terms of litre/km. Once you fill up petrol, computer will calculate the amount of petrol pump in[in litre] and then calculate the driving range using the average FC data. Fluffy Clutched August 26, 2007 Share August 26, 2007 what i wish is the avg fuel reading does not reset itself after every trip. is there an option to have it take avg fuel usage for let's say 10,000km? i used to be able to do tht on me Tody.. Try_conti 2nd Gear August 27, 2007 Share August 27, 2007 yes .. look at the average reading "2" (if you know what I mean), not the instantaneous trip reading.
Koolaba 1st Gear August 27, 2007 Share August 27, 2007 Hi bro, The MFA1 resets after every trip or when then engine is not running for >= 2 hours. You can switch to MFA2 for an average reading which is taken over a longer driving interval (20k if I have not mistaken).
Koolaba 1st Gear August 27, 2007 Share August 27, 2007 We can arrange for a meetup to consolidate all Skoda owners who share the interest in achieveing lower FC. There and then, I will impart the skills to you. I have written much about the technique. However it will be more beneficial to have practical sessions on your own ride. I have met Ixus and Ahgohgoh on separate ocassions to impart the skills. They have witnessed a considerable drop in FC during my demo over approximately 15km. What I did: 1. Note doen the existing readout on MFA1. This is the reference figure 2. Reset the MFA1 readings 3. Compare the average FC figures shown on the MFA1 after the demo. So far, I know that Othello is keen in picking up the skills. Perhaps we can start a poll to gather all interested owners.

Putter Neutral Newbie September 1, 2007 Share September 1, 2007 I used to get only ~530km upon yellow light. Recently installed a MaxPower GT and consistently getting >600km upon yellow light on 3 tanks. Quite surprise with this little volt mapper which was introduced by my friend. ↡ Advertisement
