As per the title...

I've went down to the yard to see the car. It has 17" Rims that is slightly damaged. Also the car seems like it has been involved in a minor frontal collision that one side of the bonnet seems to have curved a little upwards. Also the front bumper is slightly dented with the radiator inside slightly bended & cracked.

Initially I bidded 28K, [:p] and was the highest [laugh] till 3pm juz now... [angel]

I've surveyed the damage and asked around the cost of fixing it could probably be well around 3K (requires quite a few panels to be beaten).

if you close at 41050, the depn works out to be 4266 p.a

body value for the car is 14k.....in my opinon, alto the depn is decent, the body is way too high for a repo car.

If 28k can get then it's a steal [nod][nod][nod]

Now just pass the 40k mark. Yesterday's COE also never cheong so faster as compared [laugh][laugh][laugh]

Ya, make me cannot work and cannot sleep last nite coz i was dreaming [rolleyes] of the possibility to get that car at 1K above scrap value (though i know very very little chance [smallcry] )

At 3PM today, my bubble was burst and i snapped back to reality once again... [bigcry]

yeah lo....just don't follow their silly bids lo

there are quite many conti resale cars in good condition can secure for 10-12k body and can buy after test drive. i don't see why one should pay 14k body for a car that one cannot even test drive

Yar, even if they want to allow me to test drive also cannot coz they dun even have the key. The car was literally towed away from its parking lot!

that's why i say no point.

the great thing about repo car is you are going for something cheap in exchange for hassle and something uncertain (about the condition of the car)

if i can get something as cheap or cheaper and with much less uncertainty about that car, why shld i insist on that repo car?

at the current price add about 5k to 7k can buy from dealer liao. no point if the car is in such bad shape. these owners are usually btoke and never maintain the engine - you never know what happen under the bonnet. its worth to go for it max at 40k flat after that [shakehead][shakehead][shakehead]
